Zed editor has gotten really good. Supports helix modal editing (my term editor), the remote ssh editing just works on NixOs (vscode was a pain). I have matched my vscode (plugins, etc), ble to set the vscode shortcuts from a dropdown is icing on the cake. My era of vscode might be ending.
So wild.

In case others come across. ended up using voxtalk. On my laptop without a gpu you wait a second for sure. On my tower with a gpu it’s near instant. Always a few minor edits.

Just a heads up, I tried to join; and then when applying the code it told me to wait a minute before trying again. Then errored out saying the code was invalid. I then went to add my email a second time, then it said I joined successfully without asking for a code. I “think” I got onto it.

Just tried gsd on my Claude account. It ate my current session tokens in minutes. Haha. Fail for me at my sub level.
In a nutshell, I was snowboarding in Whistler. Went to go hit this bump/jump that looked like powder. Turns out it was rockhard like concrete. Basically was like running full blast into a concrete barrier. Landed full force on my shoulder only (hard snow). Broke my clavicle, waiting for surgery.

I need to look into a consolidated provider of files, photos, and device backups.
#Cloud #storage drives me nuts. Photos on one … have to sub to the 2 TB plan because you’re just over the lower sub. Then you have that situation across multiple providers and now you’re paying for 2 TB on multiple providers for independent services. But only use something like 600gb. 😖
Welp. I’m tired of fighting zoom and screen sharing in general on NixOs. Back to a “boring” Ubuntu variant with ansible. For me nix was about packages and declarative cfg. I still have it. But my stuff is working. 🤷♂️ I don’t have time to babysit a nix config. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.

Used to do ansible. Moved to NixOs/home manager/flakes. Every time I try something else I just keep coming back. Love its declarative nature for config and packages. Then I use syncthing for docs.
