Zed editor has gotten really good. Supports helix modal editing (my term editor), the remote ssh editing just works on NixOs (vscode was a pain). I have matched my vscode (plugins, etc), ble to set the vscode shortcuts from a dropdown is icing on the cake. My era of vscode might be ending.

In case others come across. ended up using voxtalk. On my laptop without a gpu you wait a second for sure. On my tower with a gpu it’s near instant. Always a few minor edits.

(Driven my local ai transcription)

I wonder what the old school products used pre ai.

So I ended up without surgery. It’s not a regular broken clavicle. It’s a distal break which is apparently better. I’ve already been doing physio for a week.

Does anyone know of a way to set notifications for certain #Gmail labels only? And I don't have an android device available to me. I'm only using the web interface. #google #gsuite #googleworkspaces #productivity

I highly advise against sneezing with a broken clavicle.

Keep hoping to find local that’s good enough/fast enough. I still haven’t found anything close to a codex/claude cli.

My fav is to make tutorials on topics, building towards an outcome that’s interesting to me. It’s a no big deal if it’s not 100% as I can use the tshoot as a learning exercise.

But to be fair, my desired use is to learn about technology and interact with others on technology.

But with the state of the world that stuff kind of gets buried.

People are just having to deal too much BS in this day and age.

Nope. I’m finding it both here and mastodon.

To be honest, a lot of my content discovery is going back to RSS. And I find that the streams over here are just kind of becoming noise.

Which is really too bad.

Just a heads up, I tried to join; and then when applying the code it told me to wait a minute before trying again. Then errored out saying the code was invalid. I then went to add my email a second time, then it said I joined successfully without asking for a code. I β€œthink” I got onto it.

I see a surgeon on Tuesday. And I’m actually gonna push for surgery for that exact reason. I’ve heard that it can speed up recovery and you have better results long-term.

I just broke my clavicle over the weekend. I need a solid recommendation for a voice to text tool on #Linux. I basically need to be able to dictate into any text field in any application. Currently running #nixos but can easily run a flatpak or app image. Mixed results with Handy so far. I'll be tes

In a nutshell, I was snowboarding in Whistler. Went to go hit this bump/jump that looked like powder. Turns out it was rockhard like concrete. Basically was like running full blast into a concrete barrier. Landed full force on my shoulder only (hard snow). Broke my clavicle, waiting for surgery.

#Cloud #storage drives me nuts. Photos on one … have to sub to the 2 TB plan because you’re just over the lower sub. Then you have that situation across multiple providers and now you’re paying for 2 TB on multiple providers for independent services. But only use something like 600gb. πŸ˜–

Welp. I’m tired of fighting zoom and screen sharing in general on NixOs. Back to a β€œboring” Ubuntu variant with ansible. For me nix was about packages and declarative cfg. I still have it. But my stuff is working. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ I don’t have time to babysit a nix config. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point.

Essentially looking for a good flow to use rss for reading offline. Hoping to avoid multiple apps (ie rss and β€œread later”), but if I this fairly seamless,
I’m open to it. Using both iOS and Android.

Is there anything like a Feedbin that will download the articles via # rss for true offline reading?

22.10.2025 01:17 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 1 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Used to do ansible. Moved to NixOs/home manager/flakes. Every time I try something else I just keep coming back. Love its declarative nature for config and packages. Then I use syncthing for docs.
