Vicious killer kitty!
That was horror-scifi-thriller-comedy at its best!
I recently flubbed this question at trivia. It is not in fact James.
Luckily you jumped through that ring of fire unburnt!
"Things Like This" is a cute, feel-good, romantic comedy about gay dudes falling into forever lurve. Good production values. I don't want to spoil it, so avert your eyes, but there are ups and downs and the good guys win in the end.
Never knew. Never had a bit of interest in this cartoon. Now I know. Waste bin of history, I suppose.
Libre Office?
OM I totally have this bottle of $1000 per bottle wine here ... (((smash))) ... I just smashed the neck on a rock in this dank catacomb. Would you like to take a large swig before or after ... uh ... Would you like to drink the whole bottle from the sharded neck directly?
Arrival and Annihilation are the zenith of 21st century sci-fi films, so far.
The underlying novel(la)s notwithstanding, they both give me convulsions of ecstasy. It was the original songs, scores and soundtracks that clinched it for me.
Anytime they're screened in theaters, I'm there.
Nice. That's 8.33333%.
Labyrinth, 40th anniversary edition. The theater was fairly well packed, about 66% people 45+ -- couples, parents, grandparents, etc. -- and 33% 44- -- children, grandchildren, some neo-goth couples.
Seems like everyone enjoyed it. I thought it was cool to see the muppetry up close, in fine detail.
Eyes in the Woods (2025) is a queer horror series, an OutTV original, with two coming out plot lines. It has good production even though the acting is a bit uneven. The revelation of the mystery in terms of cinematography, special effects and soundtrack follow a style similar to Annihilation (2018).
Catching up on movies in my watchlist ... really just to get them off the list.
"The Watch" is almost unbearably bad. If you knew me, you'd know I laugh at stupid comedies and horror comedies and have a very weird sense of humor.
But this movie ... is ... not ... funny. Or good. Or interesting.
Ugh CompuServe ...
Does that mean I have to hand copy all my various anon blogs from *another* platform into a paper book, again again? Transcribing my BB updates to CompuSeve to paper to AOL to paper again was such a pain 4 times.
Yeah but think about it this way. All those bots love fresh data! π₯²
The Dark Crystal is a Christmas movie, right?
"Wake Up Dead Man" was OK.
Not being religious, I wasn't spiritually drawn into the superstitious themes. π
It felt like there were problems with the flow, as though the writers, directors, editors and producers were all battling for supremacy. π
Daniel Craig's Foghorn Leghorn was attenuated. π
A still of Edward Scissorhands about to cut a string of Christmas lights with one of his scissors.
Edward Scissorhands, Tim Burton's other Christmas movie.
"Why is it snowing Grandma? Where does it come from?"
Scrooged is probably my favorite adaption of A Christmas Carol. Speaking of Carols, Carol Kane is the best.
The Muppet Christmas Carol is a close second.
When did every day of the year become April 1st?
I do also fully acknowledge that RR had a very visible role in nationwide legalization of gay marriage in the USA.
"The American Foundation for Equal Rights"
It was a very powerful feeling for me, doomscrolling the feeds about RR, coming across Wil Wheaton's post about RR and how he is heartbroken. It feels like my heroes are my friends on this platform. And now I know with abject awareness why the dopamine hit of these things is so utterly dangerous.
Stand By Me, Misery, The Princess Bride.
I don't know what happened to Rob Reiner last night. I don't want to know. He was part of some of my favorite films in a big way. I'm sorry for his family and friends. He was so real for so long. Now he is a legend. It will be a long time before he is gone.
Did you know that platform beds on stilts must *not* be dragged?
Lo the stilts tilt! Lo the laterals crack! Lo the bed collapses into a pile!
Padawans, fret not! Should this happen to you, go to the hardware store forthwith, buy a blanket to protect the carpet, cement blocks, new lats!
Voila!
There is an absolutely bonkers number of cute cats and dogs on my feed this morning. β€οΈ
Muting tags, words and profiles really does work.
YT Premium gave me one of those bullsh*t end-of-year summaries in story form. This is how bad G*n*I has become. It told me one of my top interests was G*n*I. BZ! No. Exactly bass ackwards. I am disgusted by it & the plagiarists who use it. Every time I detect a G*n*I video, I downvote and block.
Wicked 2 was good as a movie, but not so great as a musical.
Wicked 1 was good as a musical, not so great as a movie.
This makes sense, since Act I of Wicked was strong musically and Act II was weak musically. This is normal for Broadway musicals.
I'm impressed the filmmakers embraced it.
It's good.
This year's plan for December: a different Christmas Carol movie every night. Maybe two.
