I've since become a huge @evercade.co.uk evangelist. I've used their consoles in charity streams, brought a VS to my charity gaming group's booths at local events, and I have all the cartridges. Including the two latest ones!
When "attending" a panel at PAX Online 2020, @cwtycho.penny-arcade.com held up an Evercade to his webcam and that's when I first learned about it. It sounded cool, so I put it on my Amazon wish list, forgot about it, and months later I got one from my Reddit Secret Santa for Christmas that year!

According to the news release from @governmentofbc.bsky.social, they were trying to coordinate the change with Washington, Oregon, & California. But I read elsewhere that will need an act of Congress, and the last few years have shown they will do jack unless it benefits Trump, so BC did it anyway.

One morning when I was walking to the convention centre, I was wearing my Gladiators jersey and someone passed by me in London Spitfire gear. We complimented each other, I said "Aces high!" and they said "Shields up!" in reply. Good times.

I miss the OWL. My team was the LA Gladiators because Surefour was from Calgary. I saw a lot of people at PAX West wearing OWL merch and team jerseys that first year.
