Pretty familiar with the chestnut situation and introduction of diseases to native human populations unable to fend them off. According to a Wikipedia post specific to the Tuscarora, most members of the tribe left the Carolinas in the early 1700s due to conflicts with colonists/tribes allied c same.
Were they forced out? (My interest in part is from growing up mainly in Tuscarawas County, OH)
