What Nero gets right here is that
- we don't win if there's only one company
- he touches on the idea of "intent". It's not about what a company backs down from. Judge them by what they intend to do, or what they have tried to do, or what they would if they could. Or will in the future.
Yes, there are other options, no, they aren't automatically worse. Vote with your wallet.
Breaking my personal rule of not recommending anything 3d printing related here: I'm very happy with my recent acquisition of a QiDi Q1 Pro.
For the record, rug pulls like their recent one are precisely the reason why I wish people would finally stop buying into the Bambulab hype & aggressive marketing and instead get a 3d printer from a company that doesn't force their cloud down their throat together with their proprietary hardware.
I feel your pain, and that's why I tried to be thoughtful and respectful, for example, when I approached you in RMRRF - I know it's not a two-way street thing. You deserve better than weirdos annoying you. But please, feel appreciated - I do enjoy your content a lot, and I learned from you as much!
YouTube is not TV... The most important aspect is the parasocial aspect. If you're "talking to a friend", and they suddenly talk about a NordVPN or Ground.news, you'd probably be annoyed too. I'm grateful for ad reads, because they remind me of the parasocial nature of streams.
Since tomorrow is December's Charlie's Angel stream, time to make last months building of the 3DSets Mini Rescuer public!
