This is great! The harvesting/seed growing mechanic is brilliant - makes it so easy to guide the player through simple changes in the music.

I'll be bringing my Terra to Kyoto as well! I love being able to tune each 'key' to whatever note I want. It's like creating a custom melodic palette that I can sonically paint with freely afterwards.
I just got the Pulsar over the holidays! (I'll be bringing it to Kyoto). I agree it doesn't necessarily play nicely with others because it's such a full sound on its own, but it's a ton of fun to play with and full of happy accidents. Modulating the clock makes amazing grooves, but that won't sync.
SOMA always has such original designs. I love their approach to sound and music making.
Congrats Chris! I'm excited for you and your team. Game looks fantastic and nostalgic.
I only provided the narrative inspiration.
I was planning a 'trading card' party for my 40th for several months. Printed template cards professionally, and then let everyone loose with pens and pencil crayons. Everyone had a blast. Best party I've ever thrown. Here's the 43 cards I collected from 22 friends (artists and non-artists alike).

Finally got into Hades (yes the first one) the other week, and I'm blown away by how much they achieve with dialog without having a single dialog choice. Really makes me think.
I only just flagged my stuff for takedown from spotify, but in the mean time I changed my artist profile picture too.
Reminds me a bit of the Loot Rascals OST, (which I love), and also has a bit of the low-fi weirdness of my Test Tube Titans OST, (which I'm biased to love).
Oh hell yeah, I'm into this. Thanks for the recommendation.
I'm turning 40 in January, so this year I'm having a trading card party with my friends where everyone makes trading cards at the party and then trades cards. I printed blank cards templates for everyone to use. Really looking forward to it. Could be my best party yet...
In uni I remember I made glasses that blocked out the shared field of view so you could use both eyes but without depth perception. I don't know why I did that though.
Loving it so far. What a feeling.
Maybe nobody needs to hear this, but for posterity's sake, I have uploaded the entirety of the awful first 'electronic music' album that I made back in high school over 20 years ago. Normalize being bad at art! It's okay to suck if you're having fun! gabrielkoenig.bandcamp.com/album/overlo...
I'm upset just thinking about trying to deal with a bug like this.
I guess I need to accept that it will take time to migrate 100%, but I should start sooner than later. My main concern is what happens if I sign up for a different service that shuts down in 5 years time? Would ideally sign up for a new service that is ethical and secure.
I haven't been posting much here lately because what even is social media, but if you or someone you know enjoys music then please check out our little game that we've been working on.
Yes, the sweat is the essential ingredient to make it all stick together.
My friend and I had been working on a treatment for a film called "Dust Man", which was more or less this. I guess I'm just fascinated by how dust is simultaneously nothing but also something deeply disturbing on many levels.
I need to see the horror film based on this premise.
More Band Mates news coming very soon.
Sometimes I feel this way about everything. Like how is anyone good at anything?
I feel this. Lately I've been using an old pen to chew on and stick up my nose while I'm thinking. My desk is actually a disaster.
These are so great! Noby Noby is definitely a game to celebrate like this.
I quote this line way more than anyone else probably realizes.
If you're curious how things flow while playing Band Mates, here's a super quick example from just now, starting from the initial session state. We'll be opening up a public beta in the near future. Follow @grooveboxgames.bsky.social for more.
Good luck! This is always the worst part, but you're almost there!
I saw them by myself years ago with the Black and White album. Definitely memorable. So much spitting on the stage from one of them that they had a designated towel guy to wipe up at regular intervals. Also locked eyes with Pelle at one point while I was standing in the very front. Intense!
