Breaking: Trump abdicates security of our homeland, shrugs shoulders at terror attacks.
Trump, 79, lives in one of the most secure buildings on the planet & has an armed security detail 24/7.
His travel is protected by the fullest of modern tech & military support.
He can afford to shrug. Can you?

If it’s true that the United States bombed an elementary school and killed scores of children it is an unfathomable crime. I have never been more disgusted to be an American.

As a historian, I'd just like to remind the politicians who follow me that it is not, in fact, 2003 anymore and the current GOP war in the Middle East is not, in fact, even remotely popular.

So if you're a weathervane who just tries to do what's already popular, full-throated opposition is it!

Exactly. There used to be numerous checks in place to evaluate which systems would be affected. I suspect a lot of the people who knew those systems are either gone or have been reassigned.

Speaking of, this was a conversation I was just having with a coworker. We'd taken for granted how many safeguards there were in our systems infrastructure to make sure that changes and additions weren't disruptive. Now they just roll some new crap out that busts dozens of downstream applications.

A lot of our higher level systems have been slowed down and failing due to the loss of our IT personnel. There are still people to manage these systems, but they're fewer and less experienced.

Radiohead is demanding that the Trump administration take down a pro-ICE promotional video featuring a version of its song β€œLet Down” without permission.

Why Are CEOs Paid So Much?
Why Are CEOs Paid So Much? YouTube video by Robert Reich

What would a typical worker earn today if their wages had grown as fast as CEO pay over the past 50 years?

Take a guess and watch this video to find out.

People will be able to say Trump was the second worst president and they'll be *technically* right.

Hey @drlucymcbride.bsky.social and @notaprovidermd.bsky.social
Are you and the Urgency of Normal crew still concerned about kids? Are you worried about the learning loss in kids who don’t go to school because they are scared of ICE? Or were you all just a bunch of performative fuckwits all along?

I want someone to ask these guys how they feel about this setting a precedent for ATF enforcement.

1/21 OK we are gonna start with this story. This is gonna be long and a little nuanced so stick with me. There will be a lot in here that will address SSA employees directly so if you know an SSA employee, please share with them! And if you see any errors or gaps in my knowledge, please let me know!

"First things first, we need to agree that citizens are no longer required to quarter ICE agents."

"We won't agree to that."

"Shit. Ok, let's make a rule that they at least have to pay for their share of the food..."

I've had this same problem with the Dem response to Trump over the last year. Promising a legislative solution to unconstitutional activity sends the message that there was some loophole in the law that needs to be closed. It's a clumsy way to keep surrendering our rights.

"Suspected drug smuggling boat" should carry the same weight as "domestic terrorist", "mass murderer", or "worst of the worst".

By their standards, these were probably just people fishing.

once again these things boil down to β€œis your group a bohemian cultural identity” or β€œis your group actually trying to do things?” and the key tell is whether your activity centers on policing of in-group behavior or whether it centers on, again, tangible goals

Trump won by defining the argument and promising drastic changes. Opinions aren't static for most people, but Dem leadership acts as if it is, which is why the Overton window keeps shifting rightward. If you offer a grand vision and sell it to voters, you'll win.

Explicitly saying you perpetuate and protect the most disgusting sort of work environment should make you unemployable.

Yeah, they reassigned pretty much everyone from the Regional offices to the front lines, including people who were hired directly into HR and IT positions and had never worked with benefits before. Somehow, that's this administration's definition of "efficiency".

Really nuts how many men were like "Me Too went too far, and I need to email Jeffrey Epstein about it."

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche needs to resign.

He got the law wrong about patronizing sex parties with alleged child trafficking. He failed to redact names of victims & pictures of children. AND he moved Ghislaine Maxwell to a minimum-security prison & got her a puppy.

Imagine seeing photos and videos of ugly old men raping underage girls and thinking, "I need to protect those horrible men at all costs."?

Pam Bondi is a soulless villain.
