a year or so back there was a post in r/wma (the big HEMA sub) about somebody in Aus wanting to start but worrying he was representative of the scene and it was this big moment where like ... oh he's actively driving people away at this point huh? from a sport he doesn't even do

he hasn't done anything specific recently, but the A/NZ HEMA scene is relatively tight and everybody is constantly rolling their eyes at that fucking clown, and it's especially galling that he's held up as The Prominent Local Historical Fencer because he's a charlatan

for the record: Matt Easton is *extremely* legit (like one of the original guys who helped promote and develop the sport in the 90s and 2000s), Skallagrim and Sellsword Arts both do seem to know what they're on about

it's frustrating that he's held up as A HEMA Youtuber because he fucking isn't, he's a guy whose mates let him hit them out in his fake castle in the wops
