You want the recipe? Sure, here it is - indie comics publishing is 5 parts inspiration, 30 parts perspiration, 4 parts agitation, 2 parts indignation, and 20 parts exasperation. Mix with a slurry of wood pulp, and bake at 375 F for 6-18 months or until well done. Et voila!
I generally don't complain about the books I don't finish, but The Boyhood of Cain, which I got about 25% through definitely felt like an MFA Writers Workshop project meets Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret, and that is definitely not a compliment.
Glad this writeup focuses on the use of AI translation, which while increasingly common, is sure to deaden and flatten media and the intersection of cultures.
