A new complex would bring a San FranciscoΒ Transbay vision to this downtown in Marin County, where the current transit hub is really a grid of canopied bus shelters bisected by train tracks.
Three AC Transit Van Hool A300K short buses at Union City BART for route 216 back in December 26, 2025. Two of the buses are broken down in the rainy weather, with one bus having wipers that wouldn't work and another bus having headlights that wouldn't turn on. The 216 requires 2 buses to maintain an hourly headway so with only 1 operational bus, the 216 only had 1 bus every 2 hours that day.

In part due to the fact Sacramento is a city filled with civil servants and good government nerds, our city subreddit is obsessed with a parking enforcement worker named βNakamuraβ who apparently nails mfs left and right who are illegally parked.
Unfortunately, βYo brother, legal team confirmed we canβt work with minors rnβ is an instant classic

While regional options are favored, due to Link21 choosing Regional Rail and throwing a wrench into the BART integration that the project was banking heavily on, the local Muni and light metro options have been retained for consideration (Caltrain-style regional rail integration is unrealistic)
"Automated LRT" basically refers to light metro, and the Muni Metro option would be a subway using the LRVs. Surface running is precluded (or at least not favored)
Some updated slides from the Geary-19th subway project town hall today. 4 rail technology options for the project retained, "regional rail" is scrutinized due to capacity concerns, and plugging into BART via the current Market St Subway and Transbay Tube is off the table due to construction impacts.
Trolley Thursday or something idk

A traffic violence story doesn't get more American than this.
A man whose wife was killed crossing the street advocated for a signal and was later killed at the same intersection himself.
Neighbors have been asking for a traffic signal there for 40(!) years.
Congrats!

This was posted on Reddit from the other site. Fred Rosen, everyone! (Reminder that Bass left the metro board meeting during public comments to take a personal call from an angry bel air resident who was presumably him and then relayed his concerns to the board)

God forbid Sonoma County becomes a shithole like... Marin County?
You gotta see this gem of a Facebook comment man @nextdoorsv.bsky.social North Bay people are not real
All it really needs is 1 line from the East Bay from a new tube. Maybe tying the yellow line in so that line has its own exclusive corridor from SF to Pittsburg.
I've also previously caught the inverse of today

Bonta: Iβm worried about the fact that California is a universal vote-by-mail stateβmany states areβand the U.S. Postal Service is an entity of the federal government. Could ballots be seized while on their way before theyβre counted?
every random place in California is the most beautiful place you've ever seen
BART should still be the lions share of regional transit in normal conditions but having that redundancy transbay makes for a better system overall, and doesn't neccessarily cause competition between systems if done right
lukewarm take: the chain of BART disruptions recently not only call for better maintenance of the system, but also more investment in alternative transit modes such as Transbay buses and the ferries to keep transbay transit more resiliant overall
I've written up a brief script for anyone who wants to call or write your representatives regarding this bill (yes, even the ones you think won't care). PLEASE DO THIS IF YOU ARE ABLE. This bill *cannot* pass.
