This was a fun spot we filmed in London. You never know what will charge up an interest in engineering!
I just used LocalSend (github.com/localsend/lo...) to seamlessly send a file between a MacBook and a Windows laptop. Itβs like a cross platform version of AirDrop. I love useful little utilities like this.
My babies.
My carriage to Paris. Then on to Manchester.
Heading to the airport to catch my flight to Manchester, UK (with a short layover in Paris). Iβm going to speak at Manchester DevCon, and I havenβt been to England since before the pandemic. Iβm really looking forward to this conference!
Itβs officially vacation time so it must be time to grill.
Thank you, Chesh. Iβm learning to be present in the now and enjoy every moment because thatβs really all that we have.
I'm in Wichita Falls, TX (the city I grew up in) visiting my parents. They've had a rough couple of years dealing with dementia, and I'm thankful for having three siblings to help manage their care. This is a stage of life that isn't talked about enough. It's rough.
Aneika and I had a great trip to Chicago last week! We took an architecture cruise, took in some plays, ate at amazing restaurants, and took in awesome views almost everywhere we looked. On top of that, the weather was extremely cooperative. We really enjoyed the Windy City!
This is the busiest summer travel season Iβve had in years. I was in Chicago last week, and Iβm scheduled to go to Washington DC, New York City, Manchester (UK), Boston, and Copenhagen by the end of August.
I was frustrated because I couldnβt find some work gloves Iβve had for almost 30 years.
I then noticed a pair of brand new gloves in the garage that were still in the packaging.
I have to admit Iβm quite smitten with them.
Gentle reminder that Mother's Day might bring up mixed emotions for those grieving their maternal figures.
Remember to take a moment to prioritize self-care and devote extra attention to nurturing yourself. π
Wow, writing on the Onyx Boox Tab X is a *sumptuous* experience. Itβs like writing with a really great pen on high grade paper. So good.
Thank you, Lorien!
So this is my family of tablet devices. I found the eReaders to have amazing battery life and minimal eye strain. However, Iβm still learning how to insert them into my workflow.
I think the question of if Iβm living this purposeful life as Iβve defined it varies from day to day.
While itβs updating, here are the two other devices I purchased with my eReader budget. The Onyx Boox Nova C and the Kindle Scribe.
I love the Nova C and use it daily.
I really regret getting the Kindle Scribe.
For me, it really centers around my wife and kids. Purposeful living means thoughtfully integrating with them and forming a cohesive whole.
I quickly installed the Tab X in itβs case and went through the fairly standard setup screens. I connected to my home WiFi network and started downloading the latest update.
The Tab X is has a 13.3 inch screen so itβs a large device. I put it next to my 12.9 inch iPad Pro for a size comparison.
The packaging is pretty straightforward. The device ships with just two accessories: a stylus and a USB C cable.
I opened the package to the pleasant surprise of a case included along with the tablet.
The company I work for has a Learning budget that allows buying devices in the eReader category. Several weeks ago, I put in an order for the Onyx Boox Tab X eInk tablet. It took a while since it was an international order, but it just arrived!
I hope you all feel better soon, Damo!
Well, maybe it was more blueberry sized. But, it felt grape sized on contact.
My area had grape sized hail about an hour ago. I ran out to try and cover my sonβs car. Ouch.
I have trips to Chicago, Boston, Copenhagen, and Manchester (UK) on the books for this year. Itβs a mix of personal and tech conference travel, and I think a few more will hit. I think this will be the first year that feels βnormalβ to me since 2019.
Iβm there, too. No one told me about this stage of life and how hard it can be. Sending you positive vibes, @kishau.com!
I currently use a Kindle Scribe for reading, an Onyx Boox Nova Air C for note taking/sketching, and my iPad for everything else. The eInk devices (the Kindle and Boox) have fewer distractions and are easier on my eyes. I find it easier to get into a deep work flow-state when I use them.
