Community members were able to express the pain, hurt, and trauma that they have experienced at the hands of immigration enforcement officers.
I had the pleasure of chairing this meeting of the Community Commission on Police Oversight in Minneapolis. I am thankful that police chief Brian Ohara came to speak regarding the immigration Metro surge in Minneapolis and how Minneapolis police dealt with the situation at hand.
This is how you protest. Not yelling throughout the chamber back-and-forth like a fifth grader. Thank you, Representative Green!
Such a blessing that he is still here. We had the opportunity to talk about how health and human services funding in Minnesota is impacting probation and parole officers and their work in community. We need to make sure we have enough community support, and resources for our clients
I had the opportunity to meet with Senator Hoffman today, and as I was waiting for him to get done with his meeting, I took a picture of his nameplate. It reminded me of how much resilience that he has, that Minnesota has. In the face of adversity, we still stand!

As I was at the Capitol today, I was able to witness family members, friends and community of the Annunciation school shooting victims as they brought Hope to legislators prior to the public safety committee. They sang songs of light and peace.
It was a beautiful sight to see.🙏🏽
In community at the capitol today to hear gun legislation. It failed with a split vote of 10-10 in committee. We need our legislators to pass a ban on assault weapons! Bill: HF 3433 (Greenman) Possession of semiautomatic military-style assault weapons banned, and criminal penalties provided.
I look forward to supporting this constitutional amendment. Minnesota needs equal rights for everyone!
Celebrating Black History Month by highlighting some of the Powerhouses in our community that are doing great work to uplift the lives of people across this country.

Today, I had the opportunity to screen for endorsement with my union! It felt good being able to advocate for policy and change that will help union workers. So proud of labor!👏🏾💚✊🏾
Rest in peace Rev. Jackson! Job well done, sir!
Wishing you all a safe and abundant Valentine's Day as you celebrate with your loved ones on today. With all that is going on in Minnesota, please take care of yourselves and celebrate Love. As Bad Bunny said, "The only thing more powerful than hate is love."
AFSCME International president Lee Saunders announced that he will be retiring after 14 years! He is a wonderful example of fighting for all! He will surely be missed!
I was honored not only to attend the Elected Officials Convocation, but to speak as well.

My approach is grounded in sustainability — building fiscally responsible, community-driven policies with strong oversight that don’t just sound good, but actually work and last.
