Yeah that last comment resonates. The chat models all want to generate markdown, easier to parse markdown than to fight them

Great!

Are you fitting the grammar in the prompt and asking to generate that?

How often does it generate invalid code?

@grantslatton.bsky.social has some changes to llama.cpp to force it to generate valid syntax by forcing it to sample from tokens that abide to the grammar

Map + Engine = Economics

captures my frustration with Economics well. It pretends to produce outcomes (a la An Engine, not a Camera) but it only succeeds when its thin Map matches the Territory (which is very rare)

Here is a quick blogpost that shows how you can use interfaces and protocols to make database migrations easier to manage:

TIL you can view lazy evaluation and compile time evaluation as two ends of the same spectrum: "shifting when the code runs":

Obvious in retrospect but I never thought about it that way before!

This β€œnounification” is the main failure mode of many useful social constructs: having a noun for them makes them β€œphysically” real. As opposed to β€œcontextually appropriate or useful”

If you had to make the Wikipedia page for vibe shift, what would be the canonical examples?

Struggling with this because they feel local to a social group

I followed the bot to get a sense of how common they actually are and… much more common than I expected!

Nevis to begin geothermal development, expects energy by 2025 Friday, December 9, the Bank's board of directors approved grant financing for the project, which will help St Kitts and Nevis drill two geothermal production wells and one injection well. The project aims to build a 10-megawatt geothermal power plant, enough to meet Nevis's electricity needs.

Since @elidourado.com tweeted about geothermal in St Kitts & Nevis, I can’t sto thinking about a fund to:

1. Install renewals in all Caribbean islands with the deal of
2. Keeping oil revenue until investment is paid and
3. Selling to the island utility when done
