Got it. So the missing piece is an agentic workflow for authoring tests (unit, widget, integration) based on feature code, running those tests, and creating a plan for addressing failures?
When you say "any model that is decent and reliable," what do you mean? Is it that no LLM exists that acts and produces code at the level of quality you want, or that there's no pattern for doing QA for Flutter apps that you find sufficient?
(Just trying to understand your point here. ๐)
I did another video!
The thing I learned this week was how to code a set of classes myself to make sure I fully understood them, and then have Gemini create a reusable skill (a set of markdown-formatted instructions and context) that Antigravity could use to auto-create similar stuff when needed.
I'm giving social video a try (in part to justify to my wife how much I've spent on lighting equipment). ๐
This is a minute-or-two recap sharing what I worked on and learned last week, mostly about GenUI and the A2UI protocol, which is getting a version bump to 0.9!

The Flutter team published a great video about the decoupling of Material and Cupertino from the Flutter framework in 2026!๐

I hope this encourages even more Flutter teams to build their own custom design systems to deliver a consistent user experience on every platform!โจ
Want to live in Sunnyvale, California and work on the Flutter team?
Nope. Just trying to see some questions. Anything is welcome!
The fact that he writes HabitKit off as just "a pretty one" is hilarious. I can only imagine how that lack of judgment informs his other decisions.
Hey, folks! We're doing another live Q&A on Wednesday. Anything you'd like to know about the decoupling of Material/Cupertino, upcoming changes to Dart, and/or GenUI?

More than twenty years ago, I stumbled onto this poem in a Microsoft book on C++. That started me reading poetry, then writing poetry, then going back to school as a poet where I met my wife. Eventually I followed her to California and started at Google.
Anyway, I finally found the book on eBay! ๐

I've entered a new phase of my software engineering career in which I no longer build or code anything, and instead just work with Gemini to make DESIGN.md, ARCHITECTURE.md, and IMPLEMENTATION.md files for hypothetical apps I wish existed.
I just released `build_runner 2.10.3` with another performance improvement, if you have a big codebase you will be happy, benchmark results:
1000 files: 2x faster (5s -> 3s)
2000 files: 5x faster (25s -> 5s)
5000 files: 27x faster (424s -> 15s)
