ableton literally has built in global scale and midi generation features. this drives me insane because there's already so many awesome generative tools out there that take five minutes to learn and still offload a lot of thinking but you still have control over them. this is so unnecessary
It all had extremely divorced guy energy and I was really disappointed that he seemed to be showing some self awareness and wanting to improve and seem more casual and human, and then immediately doubled down on being kind of a twat. Shame cuz he had a lot of useful Bitwig info to share
Yeah I had already unsubscribed long before that, because he made a whole video about how he didn't like that he came off as smug and "guru"-like and wanted to be more of his genuine self, and I thought that was a good part... Then very soon after he sold his shit and moved to the jungle
Of course, I'm always right, but thank you for saying it
side note, the worse i've seen of this stuff is the sad downfall of Taches into vibe code guru. people love his shit, and it's all been really sad to watch
yeah, i would have fallen for it too if i didn't have such a strong instinct to check for these kinds of things immediatley. i'm sure i'll fall for some thing else some time
plus he keeps saying his new plugin is unique but it's made obsolete by free plugins like Mrugalla's Absorb and all of the Ewan Bristow stuff
i'm so glad you mentioned Nest because he came to mind even though I didn't specifically suspect AI. I just hate how he advertised his plugins with handheld youtube shorts bullshit and hyped up sales pitches, so he seemed really suspicious from the jump
but i think hiphop beatmaker youtube is always going to be prone to these kinds of bad gimmicks because there's a lot of young folks with little experience who are aggressively targeted to by stuff like Unison audio and a lot of hype producer influencers. i hope it gets better. death to "cheat code"
i feel like in some ways they are... there are two companies i keep seeing pop up in advertisements, Moonwave FX and Gooey Audio, who I immediately noticed used AI in their writing or promo images, and steered clear of, and I never see anyone using them or talking about them
who could have possibly seen this coming???? bsky.app/profile/chig...
"Squarepusher - Drum and Bass 2000"
very funny to see this pop up in my recommendations. real ones know
i guess i should know better than to ask you if you play distortion lmao
do you play with distortion? to me the timbral difference is huge because i play a lot of clean tones. it just doesn't do the warm jazz thing anymore, but it's a great dirt sound now
LMAO well done
Two sets of ships and buildings, one purple and one orange. The purple side is labeled "Our Blessed 9 Gauge Strings", with "Our Glorious Tone", "Our Great Accentuation", "Our Noble Comfort", and "Our Heroic Playability". The orange side is labeled "Their Barbarous 10 Gauge Strings", with "Their Wicked Tone", "Their Primitive Boomer Bends", "Their Backward Stiffness", and "Their Brutish Feel"
I'm sorry, but the results are in
but i definitely need another guitar like this to keep 11's on, or keep this one 11 and another 10, cuz the thicker string sound is just so pretty, and i like fighting against tension
i made the switch purely for playability reasons; my 339 has a neck i never really came to love even after 10 years of it being my main squeeze, and i need to focus on ergonomics again so i can play longer. but i'm gonna take advantage of this by playing lots of blues bends
never. i like to play clean, which is why i used 11's, and 9's just don't work without distortion
it definitely made a huge difference in the tone of my 339, but it's not bad, just different. i can once again get surprisingly strat-like tones out of it again, which i remember being surprised by when i first got it. but that beautiful jazzy tone from the neck pup and the woody vibe of bridge gone
earlier this week, i made the incredibly difficult decision to put 10's on my guitars, after playing 11's for about the past 15 years. i ask for your patience in this trying time. we'll get through this together
a man drilling into a metal frame just narrowly avoiding drilling into his own finger
fantastic safety protocols happening over on youtube
but it has such a variety of amps and effects that i wanna use it. for now i might just use the effects and then put another amp sim after it, but that might get messy and cpu hungry :(
great job, thank you!
anyone here use Helix Native? I was gifted a copy years ago and i have almost never used it because i cannot for the fucking life of me figure out how to get a clean sound out of it. it is always incredibly distorted on any amp i use unless i crank the input so low that gainstaging is a nightmare
the brilliance of that man's mind terrifies me
Me n @chigbarg.bsky.social at lost lake! Loving lomochrome purple

yappin in a bunker, as i do
