Fairly funding education is showing real results. According to the index that is used to measure student achievement and school progress, graduation rates have risen in the past three years since we changed the education funding system to fairly and adequately fund our schools.
Today, I joined Sen. Nick Miller, Sen. Vincent Hughes and my Lehigh Valley colleagues to focus on public education funding. Since changing our funding formula, graduation rates are up, regular attendance is up and test scores are improving. We need to continue to support our students and educators.
Thank you to everyone who came out last night for my campaign kickoff! It was a wonderful evening with good food, great conversation, lots of signatures, and — I hope — lots of fun!

It's really not a surprise that improved access to health care services leads to better health outcomes. Feb is Cancer Prevention Month, which encourages screening. When screening yields a diagnosis, care is needed available. Mcaid expansion saves lives.

There's been a lot of chatter this week after Gov. Shapiro mentioned a ban on cell phones in schools during his budget address. As a parent of two teenage daughters, I share many of the Governor's concerns about cell phones in the classroom. I am confident we will find common ground on this issue.
The proposals the Governor outlined today are encouraging and would truly benefit hardworking Pennsylvania families and support students, but there is a lot of work to do between now and June. My committee is ready to get it done. Read my full statement: tinyurl.com/3vn5x9um
