A lot of the bad things in our world are policy failures, not a lack of labor availability.
We could easily have more good things (housing, art, better disease treatments and prevention, food insecurity) if we spent more money on it.
But that collides with the interests of the powers that be.

Anyway, that argument implies that building housing or making public art lacks available labor, which is just evidently false.
We don't have more housing, public art, or clinical research because we choose not to on a societal level.

Here's one thing I haven't seen people mention regarding all the ID/age verification laws:
Implementing KYC this broadly will condition people to just give their face and ID to any random site, which will increase the number of successful phishing attempts and identity theft.
yep, this was one of my concerns when i saw twitch monetization requiring face ID.
as a streamer, twitch is YOUR customer, it's not even KYC. you sell them a license for variable payment.
so any business relationship could require face ID, lowering the bar to identity theft from multiple vectors.

i think i did a good job with this change two years ago, making it easier to use by reducing visual noise and giving a clear progress overview.
it makes e.g. VoiceOver cry but i've not seen a long-running terminal process that doesn't (or makes people cancel it early because they think it's stuck).
