Yeah, you got it right. Rockstar Games really are this pathetic. They’ve taken down a small, community-made project for Bully, a niche game that Rockstar has abandoned for decades. Despite that, it had a small but very dedicated community that just wanted to have fun with their favorite game.
Rockstar Games are doing it again.They're sending C&D letters to small hobbyist community projects because they’re insecure they can’t compete with the community. They ruined FiveM by abandoning it after the acquisition, and now, to look less bad, they're C&D'ing projects that were in a better state
If anyone still thinks that, after acquiring (and killing) FiveM and RedM, Rockstar Games and Take-Two aren't aggressively anti-modding, think again. Boycott their products at all costs.

I went to meet the 'Rockstar 31', the developers who were suddenly fired from their work on GTA 6 for what the studio has described as gross misconduct.

Literally everything they've done over the last few years has been focused solely on monetization. They've failed to provide an accessible level of quality and security, no updates, no fixes, no roadmaps, yet they keep trying to squeeze every last drop out of it, pushing more and more monetization.

It happens when companies decide to restrict legitimate users instead of actually improving their anticheats. Their requirement to use Secure Boot and their bans on virtual controllers are disgusting and clearly show that something is wrong internally on this front. Someone had to push this nonsense

Corruption is harmful, even if it doesn’t seem to affect you directly: the decline of FiveM and RedM halted development and led to complete neglect of security issues, including critical ones like RCEs. It’s not OK for a multi-billion dollar company to put its players at risk.

Russia has so many region-locked games that during Steam sales, discounts can go up to 0% because all the games in a category or franchise are region-locked :D
Gifts are usually working tho, so it's not a big problem in reality. Worst case scenarios - Steam Keys.
That's a big "no" from me. There's not a single reason why this game should cost $60 in the first place. I guess someone really wants people to get Game Pass instead.

I guess Take-Two just can't stand it when talented people work hard for free to help the community around their games, but they seem to respect it more when someone blatantly abuses their IP and steals other people's work to make profit off it.

Thanks for your story, FiveM has changed many lives. It changed my life too, I’m one of its original developers. But the FiveM you remember no longer exists. Now it's being ruined by corrupt people with no ties to its past. You can’t justify today’s mess by clinging to history that we made, not them
FiveM was the best until it was taken over by corrupt people from the original creators. Now, it's in massive decline. The only reason it still seems relevant is because we made it so good. Competitors are having way better development velocity. Watch the video.

That's just an addition to what was mentioned earlier. This is intentional by design, always was, and what's stated in that bogus CVE is a complete lie. Player identifiers are exposed in many ways by various server implementations across many other games. Your Steam ID isn't sensitive, it's public.
This clearly comes from general incompetence and a lack of understanding about how things work, what's considered public information, and what's actually sensitive. Unfortunately, people like that sometimes seek attention this way instead of spending time on self-education.
