The success of book summary services, like Blinkist, rides on the fact that...
1. Many books are fluff that actually fit better in a short, bulleted format.
2. It makes us _feel_ like we're learning, assuaging our anxiety-driven push for intellectual output & productivity,
A lot of "cringe" is people trying to police others behavior because they lack the courage to be their authentic & vulnerable selves, and it's easier to poke at others as an ego defense.
It's also the trivialization of a deeper issue: shame.
Billion dollar AI idea:
When you open the selfie camera to that super unflattering angle that makes you wince, it auto translates it to your best angle.

Instead, he challenges them on the conceptual grounds of their argument: He argues that poverty is in fact a lack of freedom.
Cohen claims money is an INUS condition for freedom & illustrates this using a hypothetical society with "access tickets" to various goods & services.
I wrote a section-by-section summary of G.A. Cohen's "Freedom and Money". (Like a normal person.)
Cohen criticizes liberal Rawls & Berlin for ceding to right-wing political philosophers by agreeing with the premise that lack of money is to suffer simply lack of means & not interference of freedom.

Btw, y'all noticing the nice, single-stall, full-privacy gender-neutral bathrooms being installed as social mores around gender evolve?

Lockeโs Second Treatise on Government has become a foundational text in liberalism and has shaped Western governance and individual rights.
Chapter. V. Of Property focuses on property rights and has had major influence on the development of capitalism and private ownership.
Locke includes two provisos:
First, that โthere is enough, and as good, left in common for others.โ
And second, that the person uses the resource before it spoils.
I wrote a simplified, section-by-section summary of "Chapter. V. Of Property" from John Locke's "Second Treatise Of Government".
Locke argues that people come to acquire property rights by โmixing their labourโ with natural resources.
โIf people didnโt have to work they would just be lazy and do nothing!โ

Intro to Bluesky privacy: (drawing of unlocked padlock) 1. Your Bluesky acct is PUBLIC (as of yet there is NO priovate option) 2. There are NO private messages (drawing of letters "DM" with no sign through them) (drawing of round face behind brick wall) 3. Blocks are PUBLIC (people aren't notified when you block them, but your block list info is available for public search) (drawing of snake tempting round face person saying "yesss look up who blocked you") (drawing of round face with fingers in ears) 4. Mutes are Private but... 5. Mute Lists are PUBLIC you can follow others' mute lists and/or make your own by going to Moderation --> Mute Lists
I made another page about Privacy on here, not exhaustive, but a good intro, I think :)

Sometimes I get upset I don't have like an extra stomach so I can keep enjoying, y'know?
Barbie movie was great! I'm a fan of Greta Gerwig.
It explored feminism, capitalism, toxic masculinity, womanhood contradictions, and life's purpose.
Hari Nef as trans Barbie was lovely & not tokenized. But I do also wish for a more _conspicuously visible_ trans character. And how about trans men?
if you're trans, but can pass as your assigned gender at birth in most interactions, and a trans woman is like "hey what you're doing is shitty for trans people," consider saying something other than "I'm trans too!"
- The 2010s was a great time for the likes of Uber, Lyft & other loss-making companies. However, going forward I donโt think the market will be as supportive of unprofitability.
- โBoringโ, "traditional" companies (banks, pharma, govt, etc.) have proved more secure.
