Advantages chosen from various New Era seasons of the past to thematically fill in the unknowns from the show.
Challenge Advantages are also hidden in the jungle at the Merge and the Final Five.
There is an Episode 8 Split Tribal Council variation where someone from the winning group can vote with the losing group or earn an Extra Vote.
Survivor 49 features three unique journeys with opportunities for the chosen representatives to work both with and against one another.
Like Survivor 46, the Beware Advantages requires a loss in the Immunity Challenge or the Merge to find the Hidden Immunity Idol.
Survivor 49 shakes up the New Era format, offering the first New Era season to feature multiple tribe swaps, including one featuring two tribes.
Survivor 49 is also the first New Era season without the Earn the Merge twist.

The castaway kicked out of the merge auction will have a chance at finding a Steal-An-Idol advantage. Or if they're generous enough to share their cookies with their other tribe members, anyone can get it.
The episode 4 twist involves both tribes going to Tribal Council where two players will compete in a fire-making competition to determine which tribe will vote out one of their own.
Australia v The World contains a mystery box that operates similarly to the birdcage found in Survivor 44.

The Survivor: Australia v The World simulator is now released. This season aired on Network 10 from August to September 2025 and is considered the 11th season.

This is one of the most advantage-filled seasons, offering the following:
- Three journeys that offer Vote Stops, Vote Steals, the Temporary Idol, Extra Votes, Knowledge is Power.
– A fourth journey where three of the four representatives will earn back their lost votes.
Survivor 48 Released
The Survivor 48 simulator is now released. This season aired on CBS from February to May 2025 and is the latest completed season of New Era.

The split tribal council also works differently with the winning group observing the losing group's tribal council.
One player receives the Take Your Pick advantage and can use it as either a Vote Blocker or Safety Without Power.
There's a different take on Earn The Merge with just one overall player receiving individually immunity.
Journeys introduce the new Amulet Idols along with Extra Votes, Temporary Idols, a Vote Stopper, and an opportunity for three players to earn back their lost votes.
This season, the Beware Advantage initially offers a tribe idol that can be extended if relinquished.
Later on, a tribe member can obtain the idol by destroying a pot filled with red paint that may jeopardize their position in the game.
The detailed auction returns for the second time, but this time adds a note to a hidden advantage, cash prizes, and a food-eating competition.
Survivor 47 Released
The Survivor 47 simulator is now released. This season aired on CBS from September to December 2024 and contains a variety of advantages and twists.

Up for grabs in three unique Journeys are Extra Votes, Vote Steals, Vote Stops, Temporary Hidden Immunity Idols, Safety Without Power, and Knowledge is Power depending on how the luck of the season plays out.
The Beware Advantage directs its finder to a Hidden Immunity Idol locked somewhere in camp. The location of the key to this idol can only be found after the holder's tribe loses an Immunity Challenge.
