I was in a New York Times article once about single guys who have cats. (Not single for a long time now, still have cats).

Oh man, my pre-teen self thought Cathy Lee Crosby sure was pretty.
Couldnβt get tickets, so weβre going to try for Jan 2027.
Once again trying to trap the stray cat. It went in the trap all the way, but somehow didnβt trigger it! Is the cat too small/too light? Maybe. Feral cat trapping is hard.
I got my printer at Micro Center in Santa Clara today, and honestly it was great. Real Fry's Electronics at it's peak vibe (minus the weird stuff that Fry's always had). Happy that my kids were able to experience something like that, and they loved it.
It already helped me achieve my first goal: stopping me from doom-scrolling today.
if the media had any integrity β and it doesnβt anymore β theyβd be pointing out on a loop that Obama made a deal with Iran, Trump cancelled it because Obama is Black, and then Trump started a war on the pretense there is no deal
things every single republican president of your lifetime has done
- started a war in the middle east
- completely destroyed the economy
Really tired of being angry all the time.
Ugh. Here we go.
lol. If my son sees thatβ¦.
Other than for whistles, do you find yourself using it a lot?
Sitting here looking at 3D printers. Talk me into or out of getting one.
Evergreen, I know, but fuck this drunken asshole.
Hyperion was a great book. RIP.
I spent a good chunk of my 20s working for a couple of startups that failed. Which was painful. But Iβm still friends with several of the people I worked with then, and it taught me that I needed to be in charge of my own destiny, work wise.
If you want to get off Google Groups or otherwise need a group collaboration platform, I humbly submit the service I run, groups.io.
Our Comcast internet was down most of yesterday because copper thieves took down some utility lines leading into town.
Kinda feels like a metaphor.
If you are of age, or if you are genetically predisposed, please get a colonoscopy. It could save your life.
A good essay by Kellan on AI and change, in software. laughingmeme.org//2026/02/09/...
Interesting. Theyβve developed these techniques, but what are they actually building with them?
I was behind him in line at the grocery store about a year ago. Of course didnβt say anything to him, but after he checked out, I was like βdo you know who that was?!β to the kid doing the checkout. The kid had no idea. And that was my brush with greatness.
It is surprisingly stressful watching the cat sniff around the trap, but not enter it.
Watching the security camera to see if the stray cat will enter the trap Iβve set up.
If I worked at SpaceX, I would be highly unpleased by these financial shenanigans/dilution. But also, Iβd never work at SpaceX (or any of Muskβs companies).
(This is the list, not sure why that didnβt come through.) The thing to keep in mind β Big Tech doesnβt define the internet. There is *still* a healthy, thriving independent internet of creators, just like there are stores beyond Walmart and restaurants beyond McDonaldβs. Find them, support them.
Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.
Backing Kristi Noemβs impeachment is the bare minimum.
Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.
ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.
Over 11 years running Groups.io, I got tired of rebuilding the same local dev tooling. So I extracted it into an open source project called Trellis β services, logs, worktrees, debugging, no containers.

Would appreciate early feedback if this is your world.
Watching the security camera to see if the stray cat comes for the food I just left out. Like a crazy person.
