Yeah from a purely clinical marketing perspective, it does make perfect sense.

Everything needs to have the warhammer name now, evidently. Its the most recognizable one.
haha, yeah they did also promote it with images showing "you can put the model on the card when you play it! it doesn't do anything but it will look cool"
The've done fine duty for wargaming scenery for me, but I'm not sure I've ever used it on actual miniatures. Then again I mainly do tiny scale stuff these days, so not much call for brushes that size.
Yeah communication wasn't great was it? I get the cross promotion potential. And if they had included the stat cards for the minis, but nothing else I could see a bunch of people go "oh right, I already have a couple of minis for that from the card sets, might as well play that too!"
Those are some good forms
Library cards, they may save your life.
Ik heb hem, ik geloof dat ik ondertussen 230 verschillende mecha rpgs en wargames heb in pdf. verder heb ik geen probleem ;p
What about it?

And in turn, makes those files rather 3d printable. Win win!
An you expect it to run with that few candles? The machine spirit would be insulted!
looking very cool!
The old version has also aged fantastically. The new version was fighting an uphill battle trying to replace such a solid sculpt.
I don't think it ever had an English release, I only know about it because I'm exactly the kind of person who searches "Gundam" on board game geek . Com
Though for the Zaku, i've seen shots of their stat cards used during the preview games in januari so they do exist for the game. Only more confusing!

The OZ leo and tallgeese yes, but the zaku and iron blooded orphans ones nope. The other expansion sets are a gouf and agella tanks, and 3 more of the boy band from gundam wing. The SEED figures would be covered by the 170 dollar deluxe seed box I expect.
Yeah with Bandai they may never release something to play with those models, or they might as likely send out free update packs for stores to hand out... and the truth will probably be a third unexpected thing.
Sprues of unpainted gundam miniatures.
You did get a lot more figures in the box though!
Promotional images of the mobile suit gundam miniatures game from 1982
Also interesting to note that the upcomming gundam isn't the first hex based gundam miniature game, that would be "mobile suit gundam" released in 1982. Fair to say miniatures have improved somewhat over the years, though that "game for adult" tagline is unbeaten.
Possible, though it seems many units have unit specific command cards as well, so those would need to be packed in.
Exactly. And about half of the models aren't featured in the current release lineup so even if you were willing you couldn't pay to get the rules to play them. I can't imagine its a move with a net positive marketing result to say the least.
I'm still pissed off about that. The card game is just called the gundam card game. The boxes with the minis have "Gundam Assemble" on them as the biggest text, but provide zero value for the minis game. besides having a second copy of a mini you'll need to purchase separately for the rules.
For US prices the English language facebook page has listed those at least. They are nicely rounded numbers so I don't think its AI translation doing a price conversion either.
And people are already pointing out that the SEED deluxe set is 70 dollars more then the first deluxe set, for a whopping 2 extra figures in comparison, so even on the US prices the logic is clear as mud. XD
Aye, and with Bandai, it may not hold to any logic or reason at all if Gunpla has been anything to go by in the past.
