That is probably why a lot of agents and publishers (it seems to me) are shy about rolling the dice on new authors. Reading the potential audience, the needed investment, etc. can be like casting bones.

It looks like she is still part of Bluesky, just as the Chief Innovation Officer. It is still terrible news but slightly less bad, maybe.

Was 2024 the "not going to buy a guitar" year? It must have been. Congrats, either way!

There is no scientific category for fish. If you try to make one, it gets weird. Like sharks end up not being fish or you have to include mammals. 'Fish' is a word we use casually but not scientifically.

The tricky thing for mine was nested indents. I think I have it figured out. I tested it in epub and mobi and it looks as intended. *Whew*

This is great timing for me. Was just working on this yesterday. I really don't want to dive too deep into the formatting options. Now I feel less pressure to do so.

the base rate, then you do not have a large sample size to explore causal factors with, at least in the wild. You'll need an animal model or cell cultures to do a lot of the heavy lifting in really pinpointing a why.

Thanks for sharing this, though. Your explainer is very well done!

It is a very real effect that is threatening the lives of more young people than it did before. The consequences of this small effect size, though, are that it will be very hard to locate a cause in the wild. When you have 44/1000 people to study and 5 of those are an unexpected increase over /3
