The problem is with calling out problems with con staff for artists is it can backfire and affect our livelihood and income. But if artists are too afraid to speak out, the problems are ignored and buried. This is common across all cons and fandoms, silence because of fear of retaliation.
Conventions CANNOT become about appealing to the mainstream. Nor can they become about rubbing elbows with the folks βmost likelyβ to support them back.
New artists need the chance to have their stuff discovered
Experienced vendors need the chance to actively maintain their success
No favoritism.
