@simplybastow.com do you have any suggestions for teams that are going 0-to-1 for an enterprise product?
Enterprise sales cycles need commitment to features.
If the team works in a Now-Next-Later framework, it seems like you can't start the sales cycle until you have MVP. Am I wrong?
Enterprises donβt need every feature upfrontβthey need confidence in your process. Show your experiments, share your progress, and build trust in your ability to deliver.
Use Now-Next-Later to focus on problems, not promises.
Now: Where youβll start. The first experiment to gain traction.
Next: Steps to solve the larger problem.
Later: The vision that ties it all together.
MVPs in enterprise arenβt about the single releaseβitβs about proving you can solve their specific problem. That usually means several features along the way, some quick wins, others heavier lifts.
Great question!
Enterprise sales = managing the iron triangle of time, scope, and cost. Quality isnβt negotiable. But hereβs the key: enterprises arenβt pushing for features, theyβre pushing for commitment to solving problems.
Traditional roadmaps are long gone. However, @simplybastow.com's Now, Next, Later model makes a lot of sense.
You can get away with 1Q stuff in small companies. Larger companies require much more planning and need a way for departments and organizations to align. A roadmap makes this easier.
On this thought train, does anyone have any good Product Management Books they've recently read and recommend?
We know the staples but we're always keen to learn more and support our product peeps. So, any new recommendations? ππ¬π
Letting go is hard, but itβs necessary.
In fact, feature or product removal is often the smartest decision a Product Manager can make to improve focus and free up resources for what really matters.
