I did my first Alexander Technique session today. Absolutely loved it!

I thought we had passed this stage a couple of years ago, so it does feel lovely to be back in it for a while.
My son just read the first chapter of Hitch Hikers Guide to me. He especially enjoyed βbeware of the leopardβ. Feeling like a very happy dad.
Oh, yeah. Good point.
Iβm not sure youβll get away with calling either Luton or Leeds the midlands though.
I joined the Green Party today π

Russell is one of the best communicators in the world. Enjoy five minutes of him telling a story (including a rather fun bit that I hadnβt heard before!) and giving some good advice.
There was another by-election yesterday; a council by-election in Shirley (Southampton) following the resignation of the LD councilor.

Labour - 26.7% (+2.7)
Reform - 19.0% (New)
Green - 15.1% (+7.5)
Conservative - 8.1% (-16.1)

Itβs a pity that Tarantino is such a weirdo pervazoid. Some of his films are great but honestly the cringey lingering shots of feet! Stop making the audience part of your kink you creep.
He writes like a LinkedIn wanker
Well thatβs encouraging. Maybe Labour will learn from it and give up their weird obsession with courting the racists. And if they donβt, theyβre becoming less relevant by the day anyway. 2029 is going to be a country of tactical voters hoping they are doing the right thing.
Really sad to see this news. Red Dwarf was a huge part of growing up for me, and Iβve enjoyed introducing it to my son. (Seeing his gleeful repetition of βeverybodyβs dead, Daveβ reassured me of its continuing appeal!) www.beyondthejoke.co.uk/content/1719...
Maybe now will be. (That would be very good and sensible, but Iβm not holding my breath)
I want everyone to be happy but I also want the previous Twitter board (Iβm looking at you Jack, Bret, Parag, Martha, β¦) to regularly wake up in absolute horror at what they allowed to happen. The singular solution to extend the light of consciousness my absolute arse.
Does anyone else have the sore throat that makes you want to go to bed and cry for a bit?
Happy by-election day to all who celebrate
Staggering
(I did mean manage rather than mange, but either way probably works)
Imagine being a civil servant who has seen the chaos around Civil Service Pensions recently, and even been affected by that chaos, and still deciding to award Capita a contract to mange the payroll of 250,000 fellow civil servants. It demonstrates admirable impartiality but lacks any common sense.
(I felt dirty going there today, which I did only to check something Iβd seen on Reddit that hadnβt yet made its way onto the web!)
Since @pcsunionlondon.bsky.social have posted this in The Other Place but not here, Iβll do it for them. PCS is reporting that Cabinet Office has named Capita as preferred bidder for a Β£700,000,000 civil service payroll contract. Wow. CS pensions is quite the case study. /cc @radiobeartime.com
724 mile round-trip. Bit sleepy now.
Up from 17M to 38M in the last 10 months. Interesting.
Itβs me! www.lakedistrictweatherline.co.uk/home
Now that we are back I keep refreshing that page waiting for todayβs report π€
A brilliant day learning to use crampons & ice axe. Summited Catstycam (890m) too. We also got to take todayβs readings and observations for www.lakedistrictweatherline.co.uk
We were up with them (specifically Jim, a Fell Top Assessor) today, taking todayβs readings and observations! Gusty at the top of Catsycam.
Oops. I actually ended up with both boots AND crampons
