I’d no idea the vibe of Edmonton drivers was “I am going to kill you quickly”.

There’s this recipe in Ottolenghi’s “Comfort” book that says it is “totally creamy without the use of any cream”, which is correct but it also has seven tablespoons of butter for two servings. And, look, I’m not averse to a generous use of butter, but I’m not impressed it doesn’t use cream either.
Instagram never fails to show me the coolest events that already happened from posts made last week.
Ghlog?
But not Glogging, sadly.
Thank you Glenn!
I spent a very long time getting high-res screenshots of Pages on Lion and Catalina with a non-Retina laptop, and also pulling quotes out of videos. Please do not make me regret it. pxlnv.com/blog/window-ch…
the contortions here are very funny if you're familiar with (a) ben's stance on other tech cos and (b) his objections to antitrust action. do we think he's aware that he's describing and endorsing fascism? stratechery.com/2026/anthrop...
There are too many irrelevant footnotes in this book! Also, it kinda sucks.
“DVD stands for ‘digital video disc’, a disc-shaped form of digital storage widely used from the 1990s to the 2000s to hold films and other video content.”
Tim Wu may, with all due respect, kick rocks for this footnote.
This War Will Destabilize The Entire Mideast Region And Set Off A Global Shockwave Of Anti-Americanism vs. No It Won’t
“Iran-related hostilities” is a hell of a euphemism for a joint U.S.–Israel war against Iran. Weak stuff from our prime minister on all levels: humanitarian, political, practical.
I think if you watch it from behind the couch it doesn’t count.
Fixed, thanks.
(It’s not great here, either. https://thetyee.ca/Opinion/2026/02/23/Danielle-Smith-No-Separatist-Much-Worse/ )
Friends, the state of your union… it’s Not Good.
Coffee from the “cappuccino” maker thing at a gas station. No road trip is complete without it.
CDs are the brain’s choice; vinyl is the heart’s choice. It’s really nice to see cover art at one foot by one foot. Vinyl is expensive.
Can’t believe I helped pay for this.
“In July 2015, Alex Jones, at that point still little more than a punchline…”
This was two and a half years after he began a relentless campaign of tormenting the parents of the victims of the Sandy Hook school shooting, massively increasing his audience and wealth

Google Scholar error page reading “We're sorry... ... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.”
This happened on my first Google Scholar query (and every subsequent one). I sure hope the servers operated by this upstart company are up to the task of running a search one day!
I've started really observing my fellow motorists at stoplights over the last year or so, and the overall impression is one of the most disturbing indicators of the state of society
What’s the equivalent of a twoosh but on Bluesky? A skootch?
Haven’t gone out much recently! There’s a lovely stretch of places going west around 34 Ave and 18 Street SW: Bar Rocca, DOPO, and Penny Crown, in particular. If you’re looking for an inexpensive and great Vietnamese place, Tre on 8 Street SW. Pat & Betty isn’t super new, but is quite good as well.
(I’m assuming this is near-term but, in the summer, Ricardo’s Hideaway is a gem. I bring a book and have a couple tropical drinks.)
I’m not a huge Concorde Group fan either, so I’m probably not the right person for recommendations, but Major Tom is good for a drink if that’s your deal, the Palomino remains an excellent all-rounder, and Model Milk still has my favourite apple pie.
Post a banger that’s not in English.

Water is a chemical solvent and the link in this paragraph goes to an article explaining that ethyl acetate, used in a common decaffeinating process, is safe.
Reviewing FOIA logs is an exercise in frustration because like half the requests are filed by Colin Aamot and other Heritage Foundation dillweeds to gum up the works and *prevent* oversight. www.propublica.org/article/have-g…
