When you’ve lost John Bolton, you’ve lost…
…John Bolton.
I'm telling you, boring old lawyers are now going to ABA panels to applaud hostile retorts to MAGA panelists and yell "you're a clown" at them.
A whole lot of people who merely furrowed their brows at Trump I are now seething with rage, and the Dem consultant class needs to wake up to that.
Pete Hegseth is openly calling on Trump-friendly oligarchs to take over the media while unshackling the military from the "rules of engagement" he hates so much. What he really wants is a world in which horrors like the school bombing don't ever fully come to light.

Spent most of my career talking down the endless stream of unjustified oil market alarm.
Now I’m acutely alarmed to the point of disbelief, the oil market is still shockingly sanguine, and I feel like this guy.
"Meta is planning sweeping layoffs that could affect 20% or more of the company, three sources told Reuters... Top executives have recently signaled the plans to other senior leaders at Meta and told them to begin planning how to pare back."
The crime is not just the killing of people who surrender. The crime is telling the enemy that if they surrender, they will be killed. Because when the enemy hears that they cannot surrender peaceably, the war changes from a strategic conflict to a blood-soaked deathmatch.
I have noted previously that if US cannot eliminate shore-based threats to Strait, it might be tempted to insert Marines or SOF on the Iranian coast. WSJ now reporting Pentagon sending an amphibious ready group and Marine expeditionary unit to the region. www.wsj.com/livecoverage...
64/ Yes, losing Gulf Kings now a risk. “They can hardly believe US impotence at protecting oil installations & shipping, & the US inability..to rapidly refresh their dwindling stocks of interceptors. There's a profound sense that US military bases have become a source of threat rather than security"
20-25% if the question of “us” is US/ISR. Scary times.
“The memo also bars reporters from requesting public records through the Freedom of Information Act…”
Just so we're all clear, this is a war crime and would be punishable by life or death under U.S. law.
Still no censure of Tommy Tuberville, Randy Fine, or Andy Ogles, who are openly promoting hate against Muslims while the US is bombing Iran, killing the Ayatollah, and people like Lindsey Graham are calling it a "religious war" DURING RAMADAN.
How do you think this all ends, folks?
The core problem is that literally 50% of the water is diverted to make comically tiny profits of, like, a few hundred million dollars, so trillions of actual economic activity gets held hostage by some clown who bought land in 1872. Put a market price on water and the problem is instantly fixed.
...and less than an hour after that, the Israeli military: war is "far from over"
4 days of horrible smog in London (8m population at that time in 1952) led to 12k deaths and dramatic legislation changes for clean air act. This Tehran situation (oil/refinery fire) has to be an order of magnitude worse in terms of loss of life.
Ugh…
Lindsey Graham @LindseyGrahamSC X.com The American Embassy is being evacuated in Riyadh because of sustained attacks by Iran against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is my understanding the Kingdom refuses to use their capable military as a part of an effort to end the barbaric and terrorist Iranian regime who has terrorized the region and killed 7 Americans. Question - why should America do a defense agreement with a country like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is unwilling to join a fight of mutual interest? Americans are dying and the U.S. is spending billions to dislodge the terrorist Iranian regime that threatens the region. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia seems to be issuing statements and doing things in the background that are marginally helpful, but unwilling to participate in military operations to end the reign of terror coming out of Iran. Hopefully Gulf Cooperation Council countries will get more involved as this fight is in their backyard. If you are not willing to use your military now, when are you willing to use it? Hopefully this changes soon. If not, consequences will follow.
1. Is Lindsey Graham the U.S. Secretary of State now?
Is he coordinating these threats against a U.S. ally with the White House?
Now he is demanding that a top U.S. ally enter a regime-change war?
And then threatening, “Hopefully this changes soon… if not, consequences will follow.”
Spotted in Nashville this week…
We are going to try to make a 100m population country a failed state … aren’t we?
This is a tough timeline. :(
Caitlin KALINOWSKI over X I resigned from OpenAl. I care deeply about the Robotics team and the work we built together. This wasn't an easy call. Al has an important role in national security. But surveillance of Americans without judicial oversight and lethal autonomy without human authorization are lines that deserved more deliberation than they got. This was about principle, not people. I have deep respect for Sam and the team, and I'm proud of what we built together.
OpenAI head of robotics just resigned over company deal with the Pentagon saying…

"Meanwhile, Israel's military goals likely are to replicate the Gaza model: detach any resistance from the society it blends into, flatten the areas thus depopulated, occupy large chunks of the latter, and create a situation of permanent displacement on a massive scale."

"According to the…annual Harris Poll, for the 1st time, a majority of Americans believe billionaires are a threat to democracy. A remarkable 71% believe there should be a wealth tax. A majority believe there should be a cap on how much wealth a person can accumulate." www.nytimes.com/2025/12/14/o...
A Saudi official saying this on Al Jazeera, a Qatari media outlet, is far more telling than any nugget of information carefully leaked to an American media outlet.
This war will permanently alter the relationship of the Gulf states, the US, and Israel.
You cannot talk like this about any other minority in America.
And if it was any other president’s adviser who said something like this about any other minority, it’d be the instant end of their presidency.
i'll give brennan some credit here for a question that's sharper than it looks like, because cruz ends up spelling the whole thing out for us
So, so instructive to compare media response to Afghanistan withdrawal -- months of hysterical garment-rending & catastrophizing, relentless criticism of the admin -- with the response to an unprovoked, unmotivated, illegal war of aggression, ie, "some critics say maybe Trump should have reasons."
cheering for bombs to hit cities is beyond the pale as always and I won't do it here, but it's fascinating seeing people expecting something like a fireworks show realize that their "iron dome" is as much theatre as it is real protection.
In 2019, federal prosecutors asked NM officials to stop investigating the Epstein ranch, claiming they would share info with local authorities. Local investigators handed all their evidence to the feds, who shared...nothing. www.abqjournal.com/news/feds-as...
