Re-rendered this on a Macbook, first in Blender 4.5.4 then in Blender 5.0.1. Same exact artifacts appear. So, good news that it's a Blender bug. Still not sure what's causing it though.

~2015ish, a wallpaper I made to copy another wallpaper I saw long ago. I wanted it as my wallpaper but I couldn't find it again, so I copied it from memory.

Large glowing green sun with a black spiral depicting the Homestuck "space" aspect. The frame is filled with stars and glowing green energy, and a vertical refraction a-la the Lord class outfit. Circles alter the hue in pink, but they are small. The image is overwhelmingly green.

I wish I knew what was causing this bug because it's sick as hell and I'd love to be able to reliably produce it.
