I worked with Divina Galica for a few years while at iRacing. She did licensing. Considering she literally knew everyone in racing, she was very good at it. She learned so much about racing that she forged a career teaching others via Skip Barber and other racing schools.

FYI thatβs me. Former employer was left with a clean handover so wonβt affect them.

That's good to hear. Their review showed netcode issues I didn't have either, so probably just a pre-release blip.

Be aware that in the @traxiongg.bsky.social review they did say it had issues on Steam Deck. I'd give it a try but be aware of Steam's refund window.

I will be at the Sim Racing Expo in Charlotte this May. Hope to see some of you there! Will be my first time ever attending one of these when not working for a studio (whether I was there representing them or not). There better be something amazing in that Golden Ticket Goodie Bag! π

LIMITATIONS OF FIRST-GENERATION DIRECT DRIVE WHEEL BASES - Thrustmaster
Thrustmaster explains the limitations of first-generation Direct Drive and unveils its vision for a new generation of Direct Drive that is more precise and accessible.
Thrustmaster have posted a very educational write-up on the "limitations" of Direct Drive hardware. I'm not sure whether this was posted on behalf of support, marketing or what, but it's still great information. www.thrustmaster.com/en-gb/news/l... #simracing #thrustmaster

Hopefully nobody would argue that I have an in-depth understanding of the racing game genre and its users, hardware suppliers and the brands involved over the past three decades. I'm available for related Consulting, Research and Licensing duties. tim@racesimcentral.net

Oh dear. It looks like they didn't even bother to flip some of the logos. Notice both NEXA and AXEN (but backwards) on the side of the same car.

The physics in this were written in a couple of months. Before that, it was a hovercar using the model from Zone Raiders!
It's kinda amazing this ended up as good as it was, it sort of didn't deserve to!

Seems really oddly consistent that even in spiky racing game years only about 1/3 of them made the grade in my 'best sims' decision process.

Was curious how the 'Best Sims' list ( racesimcentral.net/itm/best-sim... ) compared to the number of total racing games per year on the site.
So in 1984 there are 3 titles. 1 is on the best sims list, which is why a third of the bar is orange.

For reference. A lot of this is just media and autograph sessions.

@gplaps.bsky.social has a guide on how to install. The srmz links are different now but you can google to find everything mentioned. Itβs still really amazing.

I do so much handling that depends on the wp backend. A software profile has a software tag and the game tag, a news post has the news tag and the game tag it goes to, etc. Everything is cross-referenced through these tags.
As a self taughty, a big change sounds like a nightmare.

If interested in Web site stuff. Had to do something. The Web host is super cheap and as the site operates at a loss anyway, I really didn't want to upgrade, which is all the host ever advised me to do.
I'm self taught in all this stuff if any of this should have been obvious, but, yeah. It wasn't.
