A great photographer (incidentally, director of the game-changing 1971 Blaxploitation film SHAFT as well); if I were in London I would visit this expo for sure.

No argument there. And there is always the link between funding and labour market outcomes. But it has always bothered me when the discussion is reduced to 'university education should equal high-income jobs.' The next step after that is usually the line that arts/humanities courses are a waste.

Agreed. And perhaps universities shouldn't be just about vocational training anyway.

Elizabeth May Gives a Press Conference Outlining Consistent Abuse of Parliamentary Democracy.
Elizabeth May Gives a Press Conference Outlining Consistent Abuse of Parliamentary Democracy. YouTube video by Green Party of Canada - Parti vert du Canada

If you care about the state of Parliamentary #democracy in Canada, listen to Elizabeth May's press conference from yesterday. Significant changes are happening through bloated omnibus bills and in the way our MPs vote and make decisions.

Conservative MP searches for β€˜antifa’ in federal government, Canadian Armed Forces - National | Globalnews.ca Federal departments and the Canadian Armed Forces must answer by April how many members of anti-fascist groups work for the public service and the military.

What a bizarre initiative. Does Garnett Genuis want to make the Government of Canada a safe place for fascists?

Then why doesn't he just request the membership list from Antifa Head Office?

Oh, that's right. It doesn't exist.

"Chender said accountability for decisions is not meant to be delegated to ministerial staff."

The appropriate phrasing is "cannot be delegated" and Nova Scotians should make it clear that it is unacceptable.

I lived in the States for two years and found it to be a very insular world. I was only 90 minutes by road from the Canadian border, but I might as well have been from another planet. If an American doesn't win a medal or die in another country, you won't hear any mention of it in the US media.

Beyond the slogans and the easy answers, the analogies just don't work: Alberta is nothing like Norway and never would be.

I know you've heard that a federal judge ordered the release of 5 year old Liam Conejo Arias and his father, and that they're now home.

But did you look at the judge's order?

It's less than 2.5 pages and well worth a minute. "Jesus wept."
