No argument there. And there is always the link between funding and labour market outcomes. But it has always bothered me when the discussion is reduced to 'university education should equal high-income jobs.' The next step after that is usually the line that arts/humanities courses are a waste.

I lived in the States for two years and found it to be a very insular world. I was only 90 minutes by road from the Canadian border, but I might as well have been from another planet. If an American doesn't win a medal or die in another country, you won't hear any mention of it in the US media.
