Much improved styling on the groups and group detail screens. Taken a while but finally found a layout I like. Tweaks needed around how group admins manage books and the member views a bit wonky, but nearly there. Next up: improving the reader itself. #appdev #tauri

Releasing the butterflies. The daughter has been raising some painted ladies from caterpillars - today was the day to let them go. #butterflies

Added better styles for books without a cover image β the colours are assigned by the length of the book title so there's variation while still keeping the colours stable across sessions. Also had problems upgrading to Tailwind 4, but seems to be settled now #tauri #appdev
Yeah sure, here's the relevant bit of tauri.conf.json β sets the controls to roughly the same position as a native macOS window.
"app": {
"windows": [{
...
"title": "Readers",
"fullscreen": false,
"decorations": true,
"titleBarStyle": "Overlay",
"trafficLightPosition": {"x": 20.0, "y": 25.0}
}],

Finally figured out last night how to add padding to the window controls in Tauri. Spent ages hunting through Github issue queues and commit diffs before I found the answer. Turns out there's a trafficLightPosition config option that's mentioned almost nowhere in the docs. #tauri #react
Hereβs a quick preview of how the library screen will look

Itβs been a total pain in the backside, but my ebook reading app is now working natively across desktop, mobile and web. Next up: improve the UI.
Really feel like the traditional website intro should make a comeback. Nothing can compare to this masterpiece from Superior Web Solutions, made over 25 years ago. Sound on.
