Good to know! I have less confidence in my own skills than yours as a professional in such things, but need to do some more investigating on what the landscape looks like these days.

Maybe I overthink it but I feel like that might be too much of a conceptual leap? I guess it's not topologically very different from most board games, which they understand...
โA real war with real death and real suffering being treated like itโs a video game โ itโs sickeningโฆ Our government is treating the suffering of the Iranian people as a backdrop for our own entertainment, as if itโs just another piece of content to be swiped through.โ
Clear and correct by archbishop Cupich. This war is being waged for clicks, to โownโ โlibsโ or whomever the hell they think theyโre owning. Treating horrific reality like God damned entertainment, like a video game. (I choose and use these words deliberately). Grotesque is too mild a description.
the real trouble is that usually leads to me being the GM which I do not (always) want to be! ๐ค
I am very happy for the normals getting into TTRPGs but sad that D&D's mindshare is so large that it's really the only one they know... hopefully I can find a group at next assignment, inshallah; would love to play some other systems
I succeeded at everything which was grand and at the end their planned moment of โand HEREโS your evidenceโ was delightfully undercut.
I miss doing tabletop on the regular ๐ฅบ
just played a fun one-shot D&D game where I had a personal goal that was slightly at odds with the other characters so I kept texting the DM to pickpocket documents from them. at one point they started suspecting I had them, so started texting about stealthily eating them when nobody was looking.
usually if you ask experts why an empire fell theyโll say itโs nuanced and multifaceted, so i think itโs kind of cool that with America future historians will get to just say like โoh they took the idiot train to moronsvilleโ
have your people talk to my people
you do not need to wait for jesus to โcome back.โ dig through the rubble of any bombed out apartment complex, office building or, yes, girlsโ school, and youโll find him there, covered in dust.
oh, well that's a different matter. bummer! heck you can have mine; it's still in pretty good shape and I don't have any more scripture classes...
bruh, just get whatever's out now; it's not like software where it's gonna go bad or not connect to the server when the new one drops
actually it appears you've mastered the form on your first effort! kudos
Also the kind of thing a high-profile game can weather because (a) enough people will buy it regardless and (b) impossible to pass it off as your own work.
They're using a custom build of the engine with some bespoke features, which makes it less amenable (though I guess not impervious) to the "decompile-reupload" thing that some Godot games have seen. Definitely love the vibe/attitude though!
Chuck coming in with the Boysenlore! Thanks for filling in those gaps!
missed my window to get whatever $3 Facebook was offering us as a settlement because it went to my spam box because "Hey free pre-paid debit card by clicking here" is pretty highly associated with scammy nonsense!
still should do this podcast, imho
but I'm also remembering the last time you and I were talking about berries (because bananas are technically berries!!!) and we had just assumed Lord Cavendish sucked but it turned out that his politics were actually pretty good for, you know, British aristocracy
"Let me nuance that..." is a phrase heard often in theology classrooms and I think the overall attitude has seeped into me
yeah, I just typed "our pal Knott" but today's "the shitty people are at it again" vibe I had a moment of "wait maybe he's not our pal" and wanted to qualify
ANYWAY: berries are tasty
it's a cross-breed of some other kinds of berries and it was the work of our pal Knott*
(* Knott might have been an asshole; I'm not researching that right now)
I remember when I first lived in LA someone told me Knotts invented the boysenberry and I thought that was ridiculous and then I found out it was true and I was like "that IS worthy of a festival"
on LMNO I did a whole presentation about how that game builds companionship.
the "9 games" meme with: Sly 2: Band of Thieves Rez Marathon Planetfall Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Super Mario World Final Fantasy VI SimCity 2000 Thief: The Dark Project
I don't think this at all explains the games I ended up making but it does explain which games I am most likely to get sucked into / bounce off of.

It's oddly reassuring to see war with Iran going exactly like how everyone has said it would for the last several decades
hope the editor who had Asimov interview Alf got a promotion
No, Hoob, sheโs first among bests. Pay attention, now.
