Agreed. I wrote a fairly complex auditing plugin with several steps inputs / outputs. Then at some point asked the question, could this be done via a single prompt and it was ‘yeah’. Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Understand the process, build tools for fill gaps.

‘That’s the thing about normal people – we talk to each other, we depend on one another’
Brilliantly said. They don’t get the majority of people in this country.

So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and they’re simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was “your piano is too close to the fireplace, you’ll dry it out” and if that’s not the internet in a nutshell I don’t know what is.

The UK press currently getting into their hot dog guy outfit and getting the keys to the hot dog van.
We should enter the war with Iran.

Britain’s Story: The Next Chapter - BBC Royal Charter Review, Green Paper and public consultation
Finally filled this out, it does take a long time, but it's a well structured survey.
A robust and future proof BBC is essential.

I went to buy a print paper the other year, because it 200 years of the Guardian or something, and suddenly realised it was really really difficult. All of the places I used to go were now estate agents, green grocers, accessories shops....

Bring them back and the government should do endless posts about how tax payer money rescued British Citizens from a war zone.

I would also argue that some journalists are putting him under more pressure than he has been used to for over a decade. A quirk of a poll leader having to answer more than soft ball questions.

Overall impressed with WordPress 7.0 Beta. The wp-ai-client in core is powerful and platform agnostic, so it requires manual steps to enable and is not ‘on’ by default. Configure once, use everywhere. You can then just build UI wrappers for wider AI work, and not have to worry about the connections.

Over 100 works of art being put up for auction by (cash strapped) Reform-run Kent County Council.
Kent Greens: "While the total financial value of the art is only around £35k, the historic and social value of the art, most of which depicts Kent, is far higher."

There is a problem afflicting old media: their audience isn't replenishing. As 80+ year old TV viewers and print readers die, they aren't getting replaced by new 45-year-olds. Milennials are sticking to the Internet.
That means old media is competing for a shrinking, unrepresentative audience.

That starts a doom loop (to borrow a @philtinline.bsky.social term)
Print front pages and cable news shows have no reason to represent the views of under-50s and every need to refect the prejudices of their dedicated core audience. Which repels any would-be new viewers or readers. And so on.

I get like 5k visitors a month to my weird little blog because of a GIF I posted in 2009. Should leverage that more, but seems like that ruins the fun.
