And the other possibility is that the speed-bump MacBooks (Pro and Air) and get announced on Newsroom tomorrow, and Apple saves the all-new lower-priced model for introduction Wednesday morning.
I lost a full paragraph of text, and no combination of Undo or Redo could get it back. Shameful.
I was writing some entries yesterday covering last week, and got burned, bad, by the buggy Undo stack in Journal on Mac. It’s just as buggy as on iOS, but on the Mac I expected it to work.
I don’t think base iPads are coming, given that they weren’t announced today alongside M4 iPad Air. Maybe new MacBooks get announced tomorrow and all the news is out for 24 hours by the time of Wednesday’s media “experience”?
I see all the same things on iOS too. I don’t think the Mac version is any worse, and alas, no better. (Good contrast is with Apple Notes, where the Mac app is clearly better at many things, like formatting text, and formatting tables, than the iOS versions.)

But basically, I actually prefer most of the UI changes in iOS 26. I loathe every change in MacOS 26, and none of Tahoe’s new features particularly call to me.
