First transfer was already a little weird, just left one train and crossed the single platform to take the next train at a very small station ๐

Wife and I are traveling down to Yokohama from Sendai using the Seishun 18 Kippu, a rail pass that only cost ยฅ12,050 for 5 days of use! The catch? You can ONLY use it for local trains! Our trip today from Sendai to Yokohama will take 8+ hours and will require 8 transfers!
"The Minnesota Six-Pack"
Went out and recorded about 5 short-form videos today.
Getting interviewed tomorrow on a five-hour video shoot as part of a promotional video for the Sendai Startup Visa program.
Sunday might just be for relaxing lol.
I NEVER NOTICED THIS AT OUR GROCERY STORE BEFORE. GAME CHANGED!
Oh god why did I get two??
Hell yeah
Top-down photograph of an incredibly narrow but verdant hiking trail.
Finally found that Oku no Hosomichi that Matsuo Basho kept writing about.

Well, unless you want to look like the guy on the sign, I guess!
Japanese signage is very good.
Even if you can't read Japanese, you know this says "don't get your finger caught in the door!"
I wish it were washable, but it's been in an abandoned house for a few years at this point hahaha. Seems handy and easy to use! Maybe I'll get a more portable one down the line.
Got it in one! You pour rice into the top and press the button for however many portions you want to make, measured in 100g "units"!
Big hint!
Found this thing in the cabinet of our older Japanese home.
Who knows what this is without looking it up?
I felt the same way! Took a business trip to Tokyo from Sendai and felt like I was on a different planet lol.
There's a few of these up in Tohoku where I live, they're incredibly charming. A few old-fashioned Steam Locomotives, too, on the weekends!
Beautiful rainy day in Kamakura (I am soaked, though)
Traditional Japanese breakfast lol
It was REAL bad. Brought some home for the wife to try lol
I'm scared
Nothing like the time-honored PC Build Tradition of waiting by the front door all day for last-minute deliveries!
Agreed! Also, even if it were the same quality, food always tastes better in the mountains, I think! โฐ๏ธ
There are many soba and udon restaurants along roads in mountainous areas and rural areas of Japan. And the katsudon at those restaurants is almost always delicious. It's better than the specialty restaurants in town or national chain restaurants.
(This is my personal opinion.)
Turns out there's a very good, if slightly-less-centralized, network of secondhand PC parts shops in Sendai!
Made a little cooking video! Turns out our rental kitchen has a magnetic rail just perfect for vertical shooting?
My wife wasn't feeling well so I made her some Okayu! Say "Get Well" or she will perish.
I've noticed this, too! Had a little luck booking direct with Nippon Rent-a-car or Toyota Rent-a-car rather than using an aggregate search, but still a little pricier than two years ago!
Lazy shots from Nishi-Shiogama Station at 6:45am
Please don't give that cat any more Dodecamin.
