Excited to present at Chi Hack Night on Tuesday!
It’s been said but it bears repeating: in addition to the people being abducted, all Chicagoans are being psychologically terrorized. Seeing feds driving/walking around and videos of violent attacks in places you know and love will fuck you up. Get ready, it’s coming to all of America soon.
Your attendance is requested at City Hall!
At 10am on October 14th, the Zoning Committee will vote on the Broadway Land Use Framework, allowing thousands of new homes to be built next to four brand-new Red Line stations. 🏘️🤝🚇

When the train sells out over two months in advance, that's a sign that we need to run more trains! @amtrak.com

Thank you, CDOT! 👏 🚲
I enjoyed it! Definitely a pertinent read for the timeline we're living in. Her writing style / references are very "LA" though 😆

I read two books in January! Which, for me, is a lot! 😂

Letter on Fern Hill
After *three years* of negotiations, Alderman Brian Hopkins has killed the 500 home development proposed at North and LaSalle in Old Town.
The project would have included 💯 affordable homes in one of Chicago’s most expensive neighborhoods.
Wondering why we have a housing crisis? Look no further.

Community meeting #7: WE NEED TO SEE A TRAFFIC STUDY!! 😠
Community meeting #8: THE TRAFFIC STUDY IS FAKE NEWS!! 😡
Have we considered the possibility that "traffic" was always a convenient excuse for "my ✨ precious views ✨ from my 🏙️ neighboring skyscraper 🏙️"?

A memorial in the median of Ashland at Hubbard
View of the crosswalk adjacent to the memorial. There is no pedestrian refuge, bumpouts, or crosswalk walk sign at this uncontrolled intersection
Bike route east of Hubbard
Hubbard and Ashland marked in red
There is a memorial in the median of Ashland at Hubbard, a terrifying intersection to cross on foot or by bike.
There are no curb bump-outs, concrete medians, or traffic signals at this intersection, despite multiple protected bike lanes and greenways leading to it.
When are we going to fix this?
I wrote a script a few years back to parse the Secretary of State PDFs

Chicago desperately needs more housing. But when it comes to building apartments, the city is its own worst enemy.

They're also in the process of putting down red paint by the UIC-Halsted Blue Line station 👀
Chicago's newest protected bike lane is on Halsted, right near my house, and it's a nice one! Thank you, CDOT! 👏🚲

Barcelona and Madrid both understand that red paint isn't enough to keep cars out of the bus lanes.
It was nice of Chicago to celebrate Cal's Big Game win last night 💙🐻💛
Only the lucky few Californians who live in irrigation districts receive energy at that price!
An underrated benefit of living in multi-family housing is that you consume way less energy and save lots of money. ⚡💰
