Thank you, I know much won't come of it but hoping it is just another little pebble of pressure on the government to let them know AI needs to be regulated and we need to be protected from it - and that people in Canada care about that!
Funny how the students from generational wealth/PhD families stick together and disassociate from people who call out systemic issues.
Anyways, one of those people from my cohort just announced they finished their PhD on Facebook so I celebrated by unfriending them.
It is now in the hands of NDP MP, @alexboulerice.bsky.social, to present it.

One thing I'm concerned about is that on Reddit they reply directly to 404 and they don't seem to be particularly concerned about the recent changes to Swiss privacy law or the urgent need to maybe find another country that has better privacy laws and the ethics to not change them anytime soon.
I love it! I know there are other languages too that have tenses for if you saw something or if someone else saw it and your reporting on it too but I can't remember which ones. They are languages with not many speakers though I think.

Tl;dr
1) Have truly anonymous accounts (pay by cash, no return address) to use when you need them.
2) Always advocate for strong privacy laws!

I've seen some people have STRONG feelings about switching to daylight savings time permanently instead of standard time and I really don't get why they don't want to exist in a more "real" (closer to natural) time. It makes more sense to stay in standard time to me.
And in general, it's good practice to have many email accounts that you use for different things and to have at least one anonymous email account that does not have any identifying info connected to you.
If you use a VPN and don't want to be identified either, using Proton or another service that lets you pay by mailing in cash so you don't have to give identifying info is also a strongly recommended option. It isn't just Proton that lets you do this for privacy.
If you sign up and don't use your real name, you can send cash (no return address) and because your emails are encrypted and Proton doesn't have your physical devices and your messages are encrypted, they won't have any identifying info to give authorities.

Also, for anyone wanting to make their email anonymous, it is totally possible to not give your personal information to Proton and pay for your account by mailing them cash. Then they don't have any info to give to authorities.
They're an American company operating in Switzerland because they used to have amazing privacy laws.
There is no Swiss standard anymore. That's the story. Proton users already knew this and that Proton is looking at moving to a new country, but hasn't yet.
I am a Proton user and yes it's bad they gave info to the FBI but the real story is that Swiss privacy laws recently changed making it so companies have to cooperate with the government (like pretty much every other country) and Proton has been slow at deciding which country to move to since then.
