The 2026 Winter Olympics have ended in Milan-Cortina, Italy, but Boston still has medals to award!

The Boston Public Schools Office of Health and Wellness has staged the Winter Olympics Movement Challenge. Movement breaks allow students and staff to be active, have fun and refocus their attention.

After 17 inches of snow, 460-plus essential facilities staff worked early mornings and late nights to clear snow, salt walkways, and prepare our schools for a safe return from February Recess and this week's snowstorm.

Join us in expressing our gratitude to Ms. Milton for educating, challenging, and inspiring our students to explore history through AP African American Studies and Grade 8 Civics.

A Black Studies major and long-time @bostonschools.boston.gov teacher, Ms. Milton jumped at the chance to be one of the first teachers in the district to teach AP African American Studies in 2022 when the College Board launched the course.

In Ms. Milton’s classroom students study African American experience and history through topics such as art, history, literature, science, religion, music, law, and politics.

As we begin the final week of Black History Month, we’re bringing you into the classroom of TechBoston Academy History and Civics teacher Ms. Tanisha Milton and her AP African American Studies course!
