Incredible, the person who made several bad ai generated videos to try to claim Palestinians are fake is Google's ethics guy for making sure ai does not get abused

I also feel, by the by, like "privacy engineer at Google" is the wrong job to have if you run a successful anonymous political shit talk account on the side but fail to be successfully anonymous. Can you sense someone who has been rapidly compounding his Ls? Eager for the next writhe.

Also happens to be the name of a privacy engineer at Google, a company the person running the account claims to work for, in privacy.

The Rise of AI Is Making Life Even Harder for Real People in Gaza Gizmodo spoke with desperate Palestinians who were accused of being AI creations.

If you baselessly accuse someone of fraud under a pseudonym and then keep doubling down while also saying shit like “i don’t want a claim i can’t prove connected to my name” to journalists, guess what, people are going to be motivated to find your name.

In this case it literally took seconds to get to a name, and then another couple of minutes to find several clear connections between the account and a specific person with that name.

This needs to happen Every. Single. Time.
No exceptions.
Fight that shit back every fucking time. There are more of us than them. They need to be afraid to kidnap people. Communities have to stick together and help each other against fascism if we are to have a chance.

And of course the app is so glitchy @lexialex.bsky.social can't even appeal her suspension readily. Will be interesting to see whether Team Bluesky prioritizes fixing this bug.

Zohran looking out on a victory night crowd.

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

If your response is anything other than “No war with Iran,” I don’t trust you, and never will again.

Basically if you want to find someone who prematurely praised Bill Kristol over the last few months just ask yourself: "Who is a liberal who seems to disproportionately hate the American left and who seems indifferent at best about the Middle East?"

Daniel Knowles posts:

I am being radicalised to the right by pro-Zohran Mamdani content on this website.

It's not even that I have that strong opinions on who should win. Obviously I think Cuomo is also a terrible candidate. It is just that, I saw the Chicago/Brandon Johnson version of this before it hit Broadway
‪
The plot goes like this: the favourite is a totally inappropriate candidate from the Democratic right. A charismatic young politician appears from nowhere and becomes the receptacle of all hopes of the liberal left. His bad ideas are ignored, for unity. Then he wins, and as mayor is a total disaster

Bluesky is getting to the point that it's useful to me in the way Twitter was useful: figuring out which journalists and authors you can ignore without missing anything important.
