A tweet from New York Times reporter @viviannereim that says - My latest from Riyadh: Hillary Clinton and Tucker Carlson Walk Into a...Saudi Real Estate Forum π The political adversaries held forth on life lessons, offered unsolicited advice to the kingdomβs leaders & found at least one patch of common ground:
Why are Hillary Clinton, Tucker Carlson, & many other pundits & politicians attending a huge real estate conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia?
Because they're all heavily invested in real estate within the region & are freaking out the value of their investments will drop drastically due to Iran War.
their kid out grew them and i am so happy they werenβt too attached. fee is the happiest kid rn
itβs really too bad for all of us. everyone was so hurt by that. even the ppl who thought it was for good. fucking sucks!
stack of lumberjanes books on a cardboard box. next to them the cardboard says βf, we hope you really enjoy your time with the lumberjanes! t & jβ
someone on here saw my post about the 10yo being *all in* on lumberjanes book one and very generously sent books 2-7. they came today. sheβs all in on book two as i type this.
sometimes people are good. great even. thanks for being them t & j!!!
i know it was super good for my mental health when my childhood friend died when he was exploded looking for IEDs with his body. for freedom (not mine or his or yours, but for the rich. their freedom to get richer)
i spent a lot of time with bread and cheese plus flattops, when i could eat bread. those were really the days
i like to use a blend even though ppl kinda shit on it as being too much. because it really needs a little for texture and a few other taste notes to really be what i want it to be.
a little tangy, a little nutty, a little melty.
let me send you a birthday gift, from me, on my birthday (okay the day after, whatever, it still counts bc i don't really understand how time works)
friday, my little seed library seeds come and thursday my iceout lego signs and torso come and so i'll celebrating both days this year.
feels pretty good to have a thing or two to look forward to.
thursday is national plant a flower day AND my birthday. learn they fell on the same day until a few years ago. it's pretty appropriate if you know me.
...except the discourse shits on them so they shut it out.
and it takes a lot of growth and understanding for them to get to the place that nuance like "this preventative treatment is not healthy for me, but for me to remain healthy i need other's, who it doesn't harm, to buy into it"
and a lot of "anti-vaxxers" would get there...
blanket statements from either side aren't helpful.
especially when one side is essentially denying reality for a lot of people who aren't being supported by their doctors or medicine in general.
not every vaccine skeptic has something like me, but some do and they're not crazy for questioning.
i don't "just" trust my doctor and public health messaging because doing so once harmed me, immensely. and i would like to do that in the future.
not all doctors understand rare genetic conditions. and certainly public health messaging can't take every individual's specifics into consideration.
but i'm not the only one who got vaccines before they knew they were slowly making me sick.
i'm not the only one to do that their whole life and then get one that almost kills them (and still is doing so, from time to time) as an adult.
i'm not the only one, because of my experiences, to say HMMMM
so the facts and "truth" we objectify, aren't stationary. they're fluid. as we acclimate to things, we understand more of them. as more people get a thing, more people problems are introduced so there's more overall problems downstream.
most of which can't be precisely predicted.
i just trusted science and ended up getting a vaccine that at the time didn't have a counter-indication for a chronic health condition i have. i'm dying of what is a mushroom infection a lot, it feels like i have AIDS (not an exaggeration). because of ONE vaccine.
this wasn't known then but now is.
and as a vaccine reactor myself. i have a *special* relationship with vaccine skepticism and informed consent around the matter.
which i FULLY believe in. it's just a real sad day that propaganda exists. ON BOTH ENDS.
ftr. her vaccine exemption came after two generations of vaccine reactors. it's from the CDC not like, a religious exemption.
herd immunity doesn't exit anymore so high-risk ppl have to take EXTRA risk.
as if having the measles isn't scary enough, there's this. long term complications are actually why i got kiddo, a vaccine exempt reactor, vaccinated against the measles.
even though she's undoubtedly had some immune activation with the shot, it's hopefully NOTHING like what the disease can do.
