The dream of this sort of site is that I can keep all my own records, and syndicate them out to Hardcover for wider reach. As you pointed out, can't do it with Goodreads.

PSA: if you use @mullvad.bsky.social with any openvpn-specific docker images, you should know that they recently sunset those servers and your stuff is broken.
Luckily, there's a similar, wireguard-specific docker imager that takes just a little fiddling to get working.

That sounds awesome! I'm definitely with you that there's opportunities for sites that are less explicitly commercial and more "indie" feeling. It's definitely the sort of thing I'd love to read.
That said, I'm always impressed with how well your Patreon seems to be doing, so who knows
I run a similar-ish site, but have been actively trying not to monetize it (since it's really just for fun and then I don't owe anyone anything). Plus I like the idea of a site that's not focused on metrics.
Sounds rough when you put it that way. 😅
I also wonder if a site that looks like that is even viable these days. With the popularity of video (both short and long) I wonder if a new RPS would even be possible. Second Wind are giving it a go, but they're heavy on video.
Not that I have the cash, but I'm curious how much of an investment you'd need for this sort of thing.

It really depends what you liked about it!
Gloomhaven is a great co-op RPG, but there's much less story. Divinitiy: Original Sin 2 is by the same devs & has great writing, but is harder (but still very good).
There's tons of other co-op games that aren't long RPGs, too. Happy to recommend stuff!
