Moved my account to #eurosky today using EU-haul. Very easy and straightforward, and it worked without a hitch... But do follow the instructions carefully!

Age 7, my son watched the 1931 version of Dracula with Bela Lugosi. We were in and out of the room, sat with him briefly and just thought it looked laughable. Didn't realise our poor boy was being traumatised! He had nightmares for quite a while and still talks about it 30 years later. Bad parents 😢

Thank you for bringing this old but fantastic review to my attention. I was in the mood for focusing all my hatred of humanity onto one human being, and this just really scratched that itch, you know? Never read the book or watched the film but this proves all my preconceptions were spot on.

Who agrees glasses stores=rip-off? Paid €170 to buy 2 pairs of glasses online, 1 multifocal with Transitions S photochromic lens and 1 for computer. Would've cost minimum 10x more in a store. Been buying specs online 15-20 years, but opthalmo still says 'you shouldn't buy them online'. Idiot.

They switched off street lights in my area. The one time I walked alone I was terrified and I got harassed. Must have been horrible for women who had to regularly walk home in the dark. Now, the lights are back. Btw, Belgium is not 'over-illuminated'. It's a small, very densely populated country.

This is insane. Shifts of 12 hours are illegal in the EU (specific rules per country & sector), never mind 24 or 48. The max working time is 48 hours PER WEEK. The answer is NOT 'napping', ffs. Sleep deprivation is highly dangerous. That is not a civilised society.

I enjoyed the photos, the story of the house and its residents, and the background info you found. Must have been an absolute hovel already in the 1970s when Rose and Hannah lived here (that stove!). There's a house near me empty since the 70s and still perfectly sound structurally.

Best hack I ever 'invented': took a basic paper towel holder and screwed it into the wall over the sink draining board, placed horizontal (I used one designed to install under a kitchen wall unit). Hang the dishcloth on it to dry. Perfect!

I had very long very thick hair and it was horrible trying to capture it all in a squeaky rubber cap that seemed determined to pull the hair out of my head!

No, people said abolish landlords. I'd like some clarity on how that would work. I'm trying to understand. I'm open to genuine explanations and ideas on how to make housing affordable while limiting property speculation. The 'moneyed few' are often older people eking out their hard-earned cash.
