In announcing new HRT ban for minors, NHS England publishes 10 reviews showing there's little evidence for it. By parsing the question into 10 narrowly-focused reviews they were able to exclude 97% of 547 available studies on HRT, most showing it works.

Writer Katelyn Burns pushes back against transphobic Atlantic article suggesting yet again the lie that gender diverse gay kids are being pushed into trans identity and GAC by affirming parents. With Cass Rpt it was butch girls here it's effeminate boys.
1. A new NHS England Review excluded 97% of all trans care studies to conclude that trans youth care doesn't work.
It explicitly violates several guidelines around reviewing literature, and appears to be politics masquerading as (shoddy) science.

One of the excluded systematic reviews is the York systematic reviews commissioned as part of the Cass Review itself. NHS England excluded from its evidence review a systematic review produced for the very process this evidence review is supposed to implement. It's a joke.
The pro-trans/anti-hate demonstrators were the targets of the violence.
I generally assume that political parties know what their constituencies think better than the rest of us do: they spend so much money on polling and focus groups.
But I would be *amazed* if they understood how viscerally they are loathed by young progressives for pushing trans people under a bus.
Every time I write a critique of the New York Time's coverage of transgender people, people always tell me, "submit a letter to the editor."
I have, multiple times.
I don't think people understand how averse the NYT is to publishing a trans person.
It's almost frustrating that people ask me to.
I've submitted multiple. Never once been published. They often don't even publish my comments on anti trans nyt articles. It's that repressive.
The reviews searched over 12,000 references. They screened 547 full-text papers for inclusion. They included 17. That's a 96.9% exclusion rate at full text. 530 studies were relevant enough to survive initial screening, then rejected by the review criteria. 6/10 reviews found 0 included studies.
"Well no, actually. Hiding my transness nearly killed me. Why canβt we instead put some of that energy toward building a world where trans peopleβs lives arenβt quite so hard?"
An effective ban before the end of the year is highly likely. They won't call it a ban. They'll limit private prescribing by citing safety concerns and then rely on the 25 year waitlists for adult care to effectively make formal access impossible. It'll make legal challenges harder.
A new Bureau of Prisons move requiring that transgender inmates be tapered off their hormones could bring serious health consequences, physicians and advocates warn.

This is not how you would review the evidence if your top concern was the health and safety of these children.
An image of a social media post on X (formerly Twitter) from the account of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (@KenPaxtonTX), posted on March 9, 2026. The post text reads: "π¨π¨ BREAKING: I secured a victory against a New York-based child mutilator to stop the sale of chest binders to Texas girls. I will never allow radical companies like Lola Olivia to abuse Texas children by 'transitioning' them." Below the text is an embedded image of an official press release from the Office of the Attorney General of Texas. The press release is titled: "Attorney General Ken Paxton Secures Victory Against New York-Based Child Mutilator to Stop the Sale of Chest Binders to Texas Girls." The body of the release states that Attorney General Paxton secured a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) against the New York City-based online retailer, Lola Olivia, Inc. It claims the company sold chest binders to children as young as nine years old without disclosing health risks. The release cites concerns regarding medical conditions, physical pain, and long-term bodily harm. It concludes with a quote from Paxton stating his office will continue to protect children against "radical, sick corporations."
Texas AG Ken Paxton has gotten a TRO in Texas court blocking retailer Lola Olivia from selling underwear to trans people.
OPINION: In the face of new legislation targeting trans people, remember that allyship is a responsibility, not a trend

Americans arenβt living in a democratic collapse. We are living in its aftermath. The sooner we recognize that, the sooner we can begin to rebuild. apple.news/AcJz5W4tjTd6...
So @mady.cat's in-depth analysis from just after the 2024 presidential election remains evergreen.
The Democratic party ditching trans people isn't just incredibly evil, it's electoral suicide as well:
If an official commits an impeachable offense and nobody acts to impeach, it is no longer an impeachable offense.
People who oppose impeachment as βpointlessβ because it seems unlikely to result in removal do not understand this very simple point and seem unwilling to even try to understand it.
Bad take. UBI is unconditional access to resources. It says, "I trust you. Show me what you can do." It is the power to refuse until the pay is right. It is the freedom to choose paid or unpaid work. It fosters community and societal participation.
And ending survival fear is a psychological need.

A trans person drawing on a statue with chalk got comment from the Home Secretary and coverage on TV and in all the main papers.

The relentless march of anti-trans bills in GOP controlled states continues. Iowa is attempting to ban cities and counties from protecting trans Iowans from discrimination within their jurisdiction. New Hampshire is attempting another bathroom ban.
