“MacBook Neo” is a good name.
It’s way better than “iPad, but not the Air or Pro, just the normal one.” iPad marketing department should take note.

I’m still trying to find a good Bluesky labeller for this, do you have any recommendations?

Apple have been employing the absolute darkest of dark user patterns lately
Why does every single online ad now start with an apology?
“We’re sorry folks, we lied to you… [insert product name] is actually EVEN BETTER than we thought”
🤪
I think people who want to customise things are gonna do it regardless. Making it native means they’re a lot more likely to produce something that works the way we expect. I remember how much it sucked when everyone was replacing selects with completely bespoke JS alternatives!
Everyone in tech is over optimizing for scale that they'll never see and I'm tired of pretending all the added complexity is always the right engineering choice.
LLMs are very useful, save me time, and are improving at an alarming rate.
But the idea that we’re approaching anything even remotely resembling AGI is just laughable.
Honestly I never understood the point of marketing a thing that doesn’t exist yet
Are there any good and well maintained Bluesky labellers for bot accounts? I’m surprised I couldn’t really find any out there!
perhaps the best part of this is that ‘continvoucly morging on the tim axis’ is something you could actually get me to believe is possible somewhere in git due to it’s basically psychopathic DX
Happy Monday CSS gang. Let's improve CSS minifiers!
Here's a suite of 350 minifier tests I've written that show there's lots of opportunities for minifiers to do better: www.keithcirkel.co.uk/css-minify-t...
I know you all can help add 350 more, so come contribute! github.com/keithamus/cs...
“Mr. Beast Salesforce ad” - they’re calling it the least appealing phrase ever assembled in any language. They finally did it
Leadership: "AI is so good it writes almost all our code"
Status dashboard:
"Girl Putting Tuba On Girl's Head" meme, with tuba labeled as "npmx", 1st girl labeled as "Bluesky", 2nd girl labeled as "me"
Opening Bluesky be like
@npmx.dev
i spent two years writing a book that wrapped with “ai” as an anti-worker project cooked up by the billionaire class and he just tweeted it out dot meme
I only use grid when I come across a scenario where I can’t do something with flexbox. Most of the time it’s easier just to think about things 1 row at a time, but I’m glad grid exists for the edge cases!
1Password not mincing words here:
"If you are experimenting with OpenClaw, do not do it on a company device. Full stop."
"If you have already run OpenClaw on a work device, treat it as a potential incident and engage your security team immediately."

By that logic, isn’t pretty much any JS problem “solved” if you count using non-native tools to process and bundle it first?
“Building synthetic beings” lmao get real. I’m sure it’ll be great, but we aren’t remotely close to anything even vaguely resembling actual artificial intelligence.
To understand how our radio buttons work I need to understand two separate component libraries and hundreds of lines of React.
If you missed this post last week, it explains pretty well how modern frontend works these days. :/

Totally fair, I know different stuff works for different people. It wouldn’t be divisive in the first place if everyone liked the same workflows!
Migrating my static portfolio site from Eleventy to Astro this evening. First time using Astro, but really liking it! Was never a fan of liquid syntax/templates, much preferring the way this feels and works more like react components. Seems to play better with VS Code and Prettier too! 👨💻
Tbh I just prefer more traditional css / sass, and sass modules when using frameworks like react. I can see why separate files for styling may be a little annoying, but I find it infinitely more readable and flexible!
Hmm that doesn't sound normal. I've always found Hue to be the most reliable by far, and never had any lag. Are you using an older bridge? Or maybe it's a signal range thing - are there range extenders that might help?
How is started vs How it's going
<meta name="text-scale" content="scale" />
So there's a new meta element arriving in town (Chrome Canary first)? 👏

Every time I have to use Tailwind I hate it just a little bit more.
I’m convinced it should never be put anywhere near any kind of production build 😂
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.
A workflow diagram: Have great idea Finish project Start project Tell everyone The finish project is missed out.
