Wow, this Google AI Studio looks amazing. I just played with it, and it works as well as what's shown in the video. Game changer! www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cvc...
It's 2025 and Windows Update is still not offering me 24H2. Feeling left out!
I've always ignored Netflix Games before, but the newly released Monument Valley 3 is very nice!
Yep, hoping they'll find a way to make money without screwing up the experience. It's not an easy thing to achieve. Wikipedia pulls it off.
They could also experiment with the Wikipedia approach of asking nicely for donations. Quite a few people would pitch in.
I've never tried anything fancier than gitk, but good to know more complex things can work!
When I run gitk or git gui on WSL and the window pops up on windows, is that via X server? If so, that's been working for a few years I think.
For those of you who don't know, I run an environmental non-profit called TrashMob.eco in my spare time. Our goal is to help communities around the world organize litter clean ups.
We're hoping to hire full-time staff in 2025, but need your help to make this happen!

Successfully cleaned my scanner by following www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-S4.... It's ridiculously hard to access the glass. Even though it's a dirt cheap unit, I didn't want to replace it and create more e-waste. So that made my day :)
Yeah, same here, I've used this a while back, and it was quite different. But in the end, once you know the magic name to search for in Start Menu (Quick Assist), it was painless.
Windows Quick Assist is quite nice. I just unblocked my daughter who was stuck at school with a Google Drive issue. Very easy to set up.
Ok that's a legit reason!
Yeah, that's essentially a non-concern for me.
I don't get why so many users are reluctant to upgrade to Windows 11. It works well and is not that different from 10...
You mean give you a new array and not modify the original? Yeah, that would be the 'functional' pattern.
Not very functional, is it? But it's fluent!
But generally, I've been using NAPS2 for my scanning needs and it's been great.
My issue is that I was hoping to use it on wifi, but it won't even let me into the setup menu unless I replace the ink! Maybe if I find a proper USB cable I can try that.
And if you account for inflation, that tiny hard drive was more like $1300!
You'd also need a fun setup to connect a million of those together to get the same capacity ๐
I have an old all-in-one printer that I'm trying to use as a plain scanner.
But no, can't do that unless you first replace the ink cartridges! Because ink is apparently essential to the scanner! How is that even legal...
Found Netflix Sprint disappointing. Ultra focused on the featured athletes, and making it look like all the others are not even there.
I felt the same about Break Point (tennis). I'm done with those shows!
As the original author of that page, I'm always happy to see it... on other people's screens ๐
I was a huge fan of T4 templates! ๐
Happy bday!!
Doing math with my kid, I just learned a trick to know if a number divides by 7: double the last digit, subtract that from the other digits, and see if that divides by 7. e.g.
847 -> 84 - (2*7) = 70. So divisible by 7.
I'm probably the last one to learn this, but thought I'd share anyway ๐
Just found that I can change my Bluesky name to my domain name. So I'm now @davidebbo.com instead of @davidebbo.bsky.social. Yeah!
A US credit card refund on a France purchase ended up being less than the charged amount because the exchange rate had changed. Hopefully, next time it'll be reversed and I'll make some money!
I used to crash the exchange dinners in bld16 when my friend Patrick worked there. I remember him pointing to you saying "that's Larry, he's been here forever, he know everything". And that was 30 years ago! ๐
Ok I'll join the party!
