My favorite book of 2024
I learned so much on a subject I thought I knew everything about (🙄). DIY made me laugh out loud over and over and over. Sprankle is brilliant, hilarious, and surprisingly heartwarming here. Get it and read it.

While “No Nut November” is a relatively recent phenomenon, it has deep roots and reflects humans’ longstanding and very complicated relationship with self-pleasure. Dr. Eric Sprankle https://www.sexandpsychology.com/blog/podcast/episode-450-the-weird-history-of-masturbation/

@DrSprankle Imagine worshipping a god who, despite creating 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe, is really mad about your dildos.

I’m hardly here. Just pop in once in a while to vainly check for any book feedback. Thanks for recommending it!!
Love the use of context when it comes to "good" and "bad" ejaculation :-) @renamalikmd.com and Dr. Eric Sprankle.
And on the Magnum: Dr. Eric Sprankle talks about his fascinating new book "DIY: The Wonderfully Weird History and Science of Masturbation." We talk semen retention, anti-wanking wellness influencers, and what science has learned about — er — how fetuses pass the time...

This is my weekend reading. I'm 50% through the book and so far I'm enjoying it and can highly recommend it.

You can definitely tell he's a professional educator as the tone is very approachable, and actually quite relevant to the current online censorship push. I hope the book sells well.
Much appreciated!
I checked this out on Libby, but will be purchasing a soft - or maybe hard? (pun intended) - copy for myself.
Well-written and so far it’s a perfect blend of science, history, and religion mixed with very witty humour.
My favourite type of book regardless of topic, so bonus that it’s about sex.
One book where you can read about the actual history and science of masturbation and porn is Dr. Eric Sprankle's (@drsprankle.bsky.social) DIY: The Wonderfully Weird History and Science of Masturbation
I approve wholeheartedly. Enjoy!
Much appreciated! Enjoy the rest!
I started @drsprankle.bsky.social's (audio) book, Diy: The Wonderfully Weird History and Science of Masturbation, the other day and got to 47% before I put it down because it's such a good listen!
In today's show, @drsprankle.bsky.social and I are exploring what science says about the purported health benefits of semen retention, whether abstaining from masturbation affects testosterone, and whether you can really become “addicted” to masturbating. www.sexandpsychology.com/blog/podcast...
