Meme of Darth Vader saying "The partition table has been altered. Pray I don't alter it any further."
Currently building custom NixOS images for my Raspberry Pi and whenever this message pops up in the build process I have to think about this one Star Wars scene

Screenshot of a Tweet by @TheChiefNerd inclusing an interview with Sam Altman.
The text in the Tweet says:
SAM ALTMAN: βWe see a future where intelligence is a utility, like electricity or water, and people buy it from us on a meter.β
The whole "AI" industry is just based on the hope that they can deskill people fast enough that they'll have to rent back cognitive support systems. Forever.
It's like Uber. Just that they don't try to break existing transportation infrastructures but your brain.

Can recommend, it's good fun and useful. For a long time I just used a raspberry pi which works great for lightweight docker stuff ^^ Can definitely handle Jellyfin as long as you don't need hardware transcoding

I disagree, having boilerplate code generated for you is cool.
But we already had a reliable tool for this, it's called templates. Using LLMs for this is stupid, I mean why use something reliable and deterministic when you can use a stochastic tool that will get it wrong sometimes?

We are solidly back to the days of "WE are the civilized, makers and beneficiaries of the rules, and THEY are the uncivilized, entitled to no protections"
That mindset never really went away, some of just pretended it did. No denying it anymore

Yup, looks a lot like they need money, maybe to recoup some of that AI investment π¬ And what better way to do that than to push people into a subscription model

This is bad and all, but isn't it weird that they're already planning a new version of Windows? I feel like Windows 7 and 10 existed forever but 11 has barely hit the market and now there's already a new one?
Anyway, install Linux y'all

and this is why it is so beyond important that we do not take that fucking bait.
do not, ever, ever ever go in on this.
This business model cannot be rewarded. Do not ever do remote computing. I'm so serious. Do not do it! use a fucking potato computer if you have to! DON'T REMOTE COMPUTE EVER

Too bad, at least from the list of features it seemed interesting, kinda like btrfs on steroids. Knowing it might be vibe-coded is a big no-no though.
Also "I'm an AI and Kent is my human" feels really weird to read, does he want to be the AI's pet or something?

Silly guitar thing I recorded in Audacity :3
I'm not much of a bass player so unfortunately I'm a bit off-beat :( Could also be some latency thing idk
Don't mind the video, it's just some spectrograph generated by FFmpreg to have some video lol

Turns out this was caused by me using an old version of the reddit app (because I patch it with revanced). Tweaking the settings in the browser works fine, they just changed how the settings work I think.

Reminds me a bit of Ken Thompson's "Reflection on trusting trust". What if it just "hallucinates" a security issue into the compiler? When the compiler is vibe-coded, you can't even trust handwritten code anymore
