Reminds me of men I went to college with, when I’d say I was a women’s studies major.
They always thought their opinions on gender related issues were more valid than mine, while simultaneously arguing they didn’t need to read or review data.
They saw my opinion as biased bc I studied gender.
The least shocking thing ever is learning DOGE used chatGPT to identify which grants were “DEI.” It is critical to understand that LLMs are an authoritarian technology meant to win the millennia-long war on critical thinking and art. They are a right wing wet dream.
Pretty sure if I went to my job and spoke publicly while on whatever drugs this guy is on saying similar nonsense I’d just… be fired.
I let my 6 year old guess how old I am turning later this year and she guessed 90.
It’s not right but it feels right.
I’ve probably aged 50 years under this administration.
It’s so upsetting that we have to be so skeptical of this, because so many of us desperately need real resources and research on long covid.
An admin that took long covid seriously would also not be making every effort it could to strip of us a social safety net.

After revelations that companies like Ring have been selling home security footage to ICE, the most common defense of keeping a camera up seems to be, “But what if I’m stalked?”
And as a violence researcher, I’m just here to state for the record that police do not care about your security footage.

This is one of many reasons I am so frustrated with democrats for agreeing with the framing on Covid when they *know* better. Their capitulation to “you do you” has done extreme harm, not just to individuals, but to the bonds that hold civilization together.
